Hi all, Okay, here's what's happening. I talked with my PCP the other day and she has already sent in the referral to Mercy for my surgery. Now I don't know what to do! I spoke with my insurance company and I do have coverage for the surgery with no exclusions. My question is, can I start pre op tests? How do I go about doing that? It's been a long road, but I am really starting to see the light. Can someone help me see it a little brighter? Thanks!!! Miranda

If I were you, I'd call the program at Mercy & see how they want you to do it. I know that where I had the surgery they had us fill out a 25 page form & our answers determined what pre op tests we needed to have done. Obviously, we had to wait to hear back from them. That may not be the way they do it at mercy. They may have everyone get the same tests & if so they can tell you what you need to get done. Good luck! Dixie

Have you already went to one of Mercys info meetings and sent in your packet to them? I know you have to have a psyh eval done and a sleep study done with Mercy. After you send in the packet you should get an appointment with the surgeon.

I too would wait and let Mercy take care of it.....I know my insurance covered it and had no exclusions.....BUT~the tests had to be ordered by the surgeon.....if I would have went ahead and had the tests ran myself, I might have had to pay for it!! Good lUck......it is a LONG and bumpy road but it is all worth it in the end!! Take Care and keep us posted Jesi
