Plastic Surgery Question for ya...
Okay, I'm a patient of Dr. Glas****'s, some of you know me, Jane, Dixie, etc. I'm just over 5 months out from surgery. I've lost 79 lbs, and I'm 31 lbs from goal.
The skin on my stomach is just hanging there. There is sooo much of it, I know I would drop quite a few sizes if it were removed. My question is, do I have to wait a year before having plastic surgery? I'm so close to goal, and I really don't want to wait if I don't have too. If anyone has any idea about this, please fill me in.
I think I'm going to call Dr. Bastug's office to see if I can schedule the consultation on Monday. And I'm also going to call the insurance company to double check the qualifications for it to be covered.
Thanks ya'll!
Hi Stephanie,
It certainly can't hurt to see a plastic surgeon. The worse he can tell you is to wait awhile. I do know that Dr Bastug will do it even if you aren't at goal if your weight has pretty much stablized. You don't want to lose too much after a TT because it will get saggy again.
I had mine done at about 20 lbs from my goal. My panni was huge but it only weighed 6lb 2 oz & my size didn't change hardly at all, just a lot more room in the tummy area. My size now is determined by how it fits through the thighs. I wish my size had gone down more but I am thrilled by the results of the surgery. Now I am trying to lose more weight & when I have, plan to get the thighs fixed also.
Good luck & let us know how it turns out. Oh, by the way, did I see an article about you in the paper recently?
Dixie
Thanks Dixie!
I was thinking that by the time the surgery would be scheduled I'd be no more than 20 lbs from goal. Hey how long did it take for your surgery to be scheduled. Long after the consultation? And how long does it take just to get a consultation? Thanks for responding!
Oh and if you're talking about the article that was in regards to my business, yeah, that was me! I do pet sitting, house sitting, pet taxi, etc. If you want to see my website, here is the address (http://www.)yourpetaupair.com.
Thanks Again,
Stephanie
Hi
This is what my surgeon has told me, insurance companies won't like to do it unless, you have a rash, you have the extra skin over the pelvic bone, bad back pain, and if you have lost over 75 pounds, and that if you stop loosing weight for a specific amount of time.
That's just what my surgeon says, but it doesn't hurt to try for it.
