New to this board......
Hi everyone, I have enjoyed reading your posts and have decided to come forward and get to know you. My WLS is scheduled for Apr. 28th at Sartori in Cedar Falls with Dr. Glas**** also. I'm on my 7th day of clear liquids and actually get to meet this famed surgeon on Friday. I have done sooooooo much research on this surgery, I'm convinced I could perform it on myself. I hope that with all this research and the fact that I am a respiratory therapist that I can offer some helpful tips to each of you as I know I will be leaning on you all in the next few months. Thanks for letting me "spy" in on this board, I've learned a lot already. Later to all
Welcome Becki, I'm glad you came out of lurker mode.I came out a few days ago. You will find great imfo and support here. Keep updating so we can get to know you. I am going to the imformational meeting Thurs. night at Sartori. There is two others on here that are going also and I hope to meet them. Again welcome and congrats on your upcomming date. Cindy
Hi Becki and welcome. Glad you came out of lurking. I had surgery with Dr. G a year ago and this is a wonderful experience. Hope the clear liquids are going as well as can be expected for you. I know by that time I was just tired of all the sweet tasting stuff. I still have trouble eating jello -- too many bad memories!!
I see you're from my neck of the woods -- glad to have you aboard!! We try and give all the best support we can on the Iowa board.

Hi Becki.... congrats on your upcoming surgery. I went to the seminar at Sartori last night and like you, after so much reading about the surgery, felt I could have help the nurses answer questions from the audience. I really wanted to stand up and tell everyone about this website because had they all known, there probably wouldn't have been many questions. Do you live close enough to drive back and forth after your surgery or are you going to have to stay at a hotel? It was closer to me than I thought but still more than an hour away.
Cindy, we should have worn name tags last night. I was sitting on the right side, about in the middle (where the curtain was) dressed in black (like usual, eh?) with long silver hair (sounds better than gray). Oh yea, the guy in the baseball hat was my handsome hubby. I did luckily recognize Amy (she comes on here too) whom I used to know but hadn't seen in two years) Hi Amy!!
Ok, time to get busy filling out that 25 page questionaire.
Leslie
Well welcome! I'm glad you started posting! I just had surgery on the 6th of this month. It's an interesting ride, that's for sure! I have lost 30 pounds though and I haven't been wearing my CPAP because I'm noticing I don't need it.
Any time you have a question, please ask!!! We're all here for you as this is one of the best journeys you can be on!
Hugs!
Jen
