Questions
Have any of you every had the feeling of not wanting to eat since surgery?
Every time I go to put food in my mouth I just want to gag. I can't find anything at this time that even sounds good. This is a very new experience for me. I have never felt this way in my life. Ususallly I eat anything and everything. But lately it has been difficult to make myself eat anything. I am however still eating some, and getting my protein in. Drinking I don't have any problems with either. I am afraid this is all in my mind and now I have to straighten it out, which could be harder than having surgery. Well thanks for listening and hopefully I will change my attitude soon. Cindy G.
Yes that would be me. I have no appetite and I make myself eat. Once in a great while something smells good but it is not like it was before my surgery. I have to supplement to get my protein in. I cannot stand the taste of reheated meat either. I never thought of it being in my head I just figured this is how I am after this surgery and I am ok with it. I had no control over my appetite before this surgery. So to me it is positive in my case. I do eat I make myself eat. I make sure I get my protein in even though most of it is supplemented. Your not alone I am not as nauseated as I use to be I am not for sure how new you are I am 13 months out. Good Luck on your journey!!!! Kim L. 300/138
Morning Cindy,
Pretty natural feeling you have. It will pass in time. Just make sure you are getting in plenty of fluids & protein, very important as well as your vitamin supplements. I felt the same in my early stage also but I was afraid of getting sick or not sure if I was full. This to will pass, just take one day at a time.
Hugs
