I have a lap...
and tonight I found out I will have a use for it.
I'M GOING TO BE A GRANDMA!
A couple years ago, I babysat with two of my neices' children, two sweet little girls & a cool boy who was just 2 years old. In the afternoon when they got tired, we decided to read a book. Little Jaxon climbed up on Aunt Dixie's lap and got a really odd look on his face & climbed back down. You see, he was sitting on a mountain of fat. I coldn't even cuddle him. He ended up sittng next to me while I read to him & I decided that before I had a grandchild of my own, I would be normal sized.
Well, I am normal sized now & have a lap. Now have a new goal. I want to be at my surgeon's goal for me by Dec when I will once more get to try out the lap.
I'm so excited! I'm going home to sleep with a grandpa-to-be! (sorry, that's something my Dad would have said & I just had to say it for him)

Biggest of hugs to you & grandpa It's so exciting be a grandparent, especially when you can spoil them & send them home! I held a baby girl the other day, she was the cutest little thing, had a hard time giving her up! Katie is my last chance for being Na-Na again & she better wait several years to do that for me, as she's only 13!
The lap is wonderful isn't it? I'm only just pounds away from being at surgeon's & my goal, around 20 now. Hard to believe! Keep smiling
Hugs

Oh, wow, congrats, Grandma-to-be!!!!! Isn't it awesome? Even without ps, I have discovered a lap. My 8 year old thinks that it is awesome to be able to sit on my lap. If we decide to have another baby, I can't wait to nurse the baby in front of me instead of just on the side in a football hold. Before, the belly was always in the way. I know it's silly, but just something that I look forward to.
Congrats again! I'm excited for you!
God bless,
Andrea
Hey there Grandma Dixie -- I'm sure your lap will be just fine. Why you even have enough room for twins!!! I'm sure your new motto will be "Grandma is my name and spoiling is my game"!!!
What a nice Christmas present -- and you thought you'd have to wait a while for this...
Best of luck to all. Why you won't have time to do chores with all the baby shopping and such now!!

We can dream, about not having to do chores, that is. I promised Al I would start tomorrow. Trying to figure out a way to postpone it but can't seem to come up with a way. Exercising hasn't bothered my tummy at all so I can probably do chores with no problems either. Actually, it's not bad, just a real encroachment of my time on the computer. I have to work it in between sleeping & my exercise class. I'll just keep reminding myself how many calories I am working off.
Poor baby. When I babysit, and it's time for me to do chores, he/she (NO TWINS!) will probably be put in a stroller & put where he/she can watch Grandpa milk, just like Ben did. Nothing like a baby who smells like cow manure!
