Lap-band recovery

I jsut received my approval from insurance and am now ready to call and schedule my sugerical consult then....dah, da, da, dah...... set the date. I was wondering if any one has done the adjustable band- and how long it was before you felt like doing things- I mean like going to a cousin's wedding, having a 4th of July party etc. I know what the Dr. told me for recovery- but that is not always when you actaully feel like 'doin' stuff'.
