Tomorrow is the big day!
I am scheduled for WLS tomorrow at Mercy Capitol, Des Moines. I got a call today and at first I thought the nurse was going to say my surgery had been moved to another day, but it is still tomorrow, just an earlier time. Instead of 11 am, surgery will now be 8 am. That is fine with me. I guess my feelings are the same as any of you who have already had your surgery....scared, excited, scared, and ready to get it over with! I have severe osteoarthritis in both hips and both knees, and just hope I am able to walk enough to help. I have started a journal and had my hubby take pictures of me in my bra and panties this morning. Not the pictures I would want everyone to see, but pictures that show ME as of April 4, 2005, and then will continue to document as the weight comes off. I have a very supportive family--my husband is the best although he is a little scared for me, too. I am so thankful for them. Lots of prayers have been sent my way and that can't hurt. I have two adult daughters who will come and take care of ol' Mom after I get home. I will write more in a few days. Wish me luck!!
Cheryl
I am so excited, Cheryl! Soon all the waiting will be over and the recovery will begin. I'll be praying for you. I got very scared this morning before I went to work, I'm glad I could keep myself distracted from it there. Take advantage of the TLC from your daughters. I told my sister I was going to get a bell to ring to summon her. She said she'd walk right out the door.
Good luck tommorrow!
