Dr. Shinnerl leaving!

I got an email last night telling me that Dr. Shinnerl (surgeon) is leaving in May! I can't believe it, still in shock. Nancy got a call from his office telling her about this, she is waiting for insurance approval. Carolyn

Bummer!!! Did they say why?? My surgeon left me too, I was only 6 months out at the time.....Maher left to take a big position on the East Coast somewhere! UIHC still haven't found anyone to take his spot....It is a tough position!!! Are you going to look for another surgeon for your aftercare or just a PCP? I am not sure about what I will do, I just had an insurance change too, I went to my 1 year check-up at U of I and not sure what to do now I feel your pain!! Take Care Jesi

Carolyn, you must be devastated! BUT you are lucky that he did not leave a year ago and that he stayed around to get you on the road to better health! big hugs Sheila

Oh that figures! I was going to make an appt to see him soon! I guess i am going to have to find someone else. I wonder if he would recommend someone else?
