Hi! I remember seeing a few people on here having Fibromyalgia from their profiles. I dont remember which ones though. I was wondering for those of you that have it....did you notice a change in your Fibromyalgia? Did you have a flare up after surgery because of the stress? Did it seem to get better when you lost some of your weight? Thanks! Billie Jo

Morning Billie Jo I have better days now than I did before surgery. The pain seems to have lessened. I still have days that I hurt but think that's due to the weather & stress. I was told all along if I lost weight it would help & I have to say it has. Actually after surgery I felt better than I had in years. Walking can be done without the pain that was there before. But everyone is different. Hugs Carolyn

My fibro is much better since surgery. I may be a bit strange (no comments please) but my fibro is usually 100% gone for about 3 weeks after I've had surgery. I think that all my muscles relax during surgery and the knots work out. Then 3 wks to the day later, the symptoms return with a vengence. But fortunately, my symptoms have lessened considerably. I still have the fatigue and sleep problems, but as long as I take my bedtime meds, I sleep well.

Hi Billie Jo, I have FMS too. I had some complications after my RNY of a terrible wound infection, so I was pretty much out of it until I got that healed up. Then, it seemed about 2 months out, my fibro flared up something terrible. Bad enough that I went to my nurse practitioner to ask for pain meds. I am still having quite a bit of joint pain. I think it is going to improve once it warms up outside though, as that is usually how mine goes. Exercise is getting easier and easier (and less painful) with every pound lost. I expect nothing but improvement from here on out. jean
