I GOT A DATE.

April 6th!!! I have my appointment with Dr. G on April 1 to pay my payment and get my "bowel prep". Anyone want to give me a clue as to what that all entails? I'm just so happy!!! Although I start my liquid diet tomorrow What am I going to do? My boss just took me to Panera to celebrate so I guess that'll be the last of that. I just want to dance - I'm just so happy!!! Jen ~~ woohoo that's great. This time will go really fast. Be sure and ask if you need ideas for your liquid diet. The first 4 days are the worst. After that you really aren't very hungry, a lot of it's in your head. Best of luck to you and God Bless. Be sure and take your before pictures and measurements too!! Bra and underwear pictures really tell the story. When my friend did mine and I saw them for the 1st time I told her I was really mad at her because she had never told me my butt was that huge!!!! Looking back on them now it just amazes me. They can really help keep you in check!!! Settle in and get ready for the ride of your life!! Janie

Thanks Janie! Yeah I have to figure out how I'm going to take pictures tonight. My husband has the flu that I had this weekend. I'm so nervous to be almost naked in front of the camera though! What if people laugh at me when they're developing the film???? I don't know how to do my measurements either. That'll be a challenge! Thank you Lori! Hey, once it starts it may seem like forever but just one month ago I was at Dr. G's seminar and look where I am now! It goes by fast...I know it sucks to hear this but BE PATIENT! What good news, Jen! I'm very happy for you. I do have some good news for you. Panera is still my favorite place to go! I don't get the sandwiches but the soup & salads are real easy for me to eat. I even now, manage to eat part of the bread they give you, but not often. By the way, I heard a rumor, and that may be all it is, but Dr G may not be requiring the bowel prep much longer. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones, or, then again, maybe it was just a rumor. If you do have it, they will explain everything you need to know. Basically, you have to get the "gunk" from a pharmacy or WalMart. It is taken twice, two days before your surgery date, afternoon & evening. You spend the next several hours pretty close to the bathroom, if not in the bathroom. I took the phone with me and a book! The next day you have to take 3 doses of a pretty strong antiobiotic which actually can cause more diarrhea! Don't know where it comes from though. Some people go to work that day and have no problem. That's about it. Dixie

Congrats! At my one year check up Dr. was talking in the hall that he wasn't doing the bowel prep anymore but the first time he finds chunks of food he will go back to the prep. That is what I heard him say and I said that wasn't fair. Sorry but its all part of the experience of it. But I am happy if you don't have to do the bowel prep it really sucks! Again congrats!
