Going to Florida!

Morning All Well as most or all of you know my dad vacations in Florida during the winter. He keeps saying he is dreading the drive home. I started looking up airfares & decided I would go down & help him drive home. Know that he must really want me to come down as he didn't tell me I couldn't afford it or the usual dad stuff about staying home he would be fine. When he called last night told him I had booked a flight & he was actually excited! I'm going down the 29th & we'll head back home that weekend. He was telling me he was going to take me around & introduce me to his breakfast buddies & another couple he has known for 10 years. I have talked to the couple on the phone but we have never met. Am looking forward to "running away" for a few days. Since dad's been gone I've dropped 30 lbs & as you know pictures don't do justice as much as seeing a person. Last night I visited with our (retired) family dr taking him the DM Register (he was gone when it come out) & soon as I left he called dad & told him about the story etc etc etc.....Now hope the weather will hold out! Way to go. Isn't it wonderful when your parents finally let you do something for them with out them complaining. Sounds like your dad is almost more excited to have you there than you are to go. Hope you have a nice time and a safe return. Cindy

Congratulations on your mini vacation!! My parents to are "snow birds." Where is your dad living? My parents are in Avon Park, and they love it! The day you are flying out on is the day I will be having my surgery. Kinda exciting for both of us (2 weeks from today) yippy Good luck with your trip, and that long drive back!! Nancy

Not only am I jealous you are going somewhere warm, well somewhere at all......I am happy for you......I know it is a huge step for you to go to Florida....You must be feeling pretty good about yourself!! Carolyn, I hope you enjoy Florida in the winter as much as I did. My husbad and I went on a cruise a couple weeks ago. Sailed out of Tampa to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. The weather was georgous!! It was sooooo hard to come back to the cold. Anyway, enjoy and have a safe trip. LoriW

Sorry - I know that I am butting in on the post- but, Lori, were you on Carnival's Sensation...sounds like the same itinerary that we had when we went in 2003. Did you snorkel with the stingray in Grand Cayman, go to Hell? It was my first trip with my husband ...anywhere... in the 11 years we were married, so this cruise was/is esp. memorable for me. Sherri, You are not butting in. We were on Carnival's Inspiriation. We didn't snorkel, but we did get to swim with and feed the stingrays. The ocean was georgous and the whole stingray experience was I'll always remember. Oh yes, we did "go to Hell" and visit the turtle farm. Thank you for sharing your memories! LoriW

No seatbelt extensions for you...... spoke with someone in Jacksonville, FL yesterday and told me that it was 81 degrees there on Monday. I am sure that you will enjoy yourself. Sherri
