We have a couple celebs in our midst! Barb and Debi

Just wanted to dote on some of the folks that post here or are known by some of us on here: Barb Paul - who is Jason Paul's mother, Deb Paul's mother-in-law (and new little Katie Barbara's grandma) and Debi Davis were featured in the monthly Genesis Healthcare magazine. Barb was the first lap patient at the Genesis Center for Bariatric Surgery and Debi was the second. (Sure wish they had that around when I had surgery! I was patient number 12 through the program - BEFORE they were trained in the lap procedures.) Congrats to both of you for the wonderful job that you are doing on this journey!! God bless, Andrea

Is there a way to see the article online? I understand that Barb has already been on TV & in the paper because of being first & would love to see the article. By the way, this surgeon must be pretty good. Barb has done wonderfully & she shocked me when she told me that just a couple days after her surgery she was raking leaves & she spent her time at home cleaning closets! She walked, not just laps around the nurses area like I did here in CF, but she actually walked miles! I had her all prepared to not feel good for a couple weeks. Goes to show which cousin is the whimpy one, huh? Ya, Barb & I are cousins & were very close growing up. Too bad we live so far apart now. We used to play Barbies growing up, between the two of us had 7 sons and no girls, & now she gets to play with 4 grandbabies. Something is not quite fair! Dixie

Dixie, Barb shocked me too. I called her at home to check on her that day she was raking leaves - who'd have thought????? She is pretty cool. Those boys of yours haven't given you any grandbabies yet? I have three kids you could "adopt". As a matter of fact, I'll send them your way for a week or so. Mamma and dad could enjoy some quality time then, if you know what I mean!!! Anyway, (sorry, I digress), I will look at the article at home and try to find a link tonight. God bless, Andrea

ROFL Your too funny Andrea! It was great being able to have my surgery lap! Thank you for mentioning this. Celebraty? I wish! I could afford to buy more clothes than LOL I have a question...does Barb have a journal? If so I can't find it. I have read Jason and Deb's, they are doing grand...what an inspiration they must have been to Barb. Hope to see you at the meeting tomorrow night, I'm not sure if I can make it. No Grandma Barb does not have a journal yet..I'll call her and tell her to read the message board. She has my twins this week, so Jason and I can have some quality time with Katie. She is a strong woman and I am very proud of her! She keeps buying me clothes..what a lifesaver..because I need them. She should be encouaraged to start a journal on here. Baby Bliss, Deb

Hey you - congrats to you both!!! Is your mil here in the cities with the twins? If so, tell her that if she wants to get together with another toddler - my Micah (2 1/2 yrs.) that we can try a play date this weekend. I bet that 10 to 1, she won't be at support group tonight if she has the twins. Glad to see you posting. How long do you have off school and your other jobs?
