Home from my Tummy tuck
I survived! The pain is no fun & all I want to do is just sit on the recliner but it will improve quickly. The doctor removed 6lb 2oz of flesh. He took pictures & it was surprising to see how large it is laying on the scale.
I have 2 drains situated in the pubic area. That's the most uncomfortable part.
My tummy is so flat!
Sorry for cutting this short but the drugs make me very doppy feeling and shakey.
Dixie
Dixie,
I hope each day gets better for you like everyone else I want to know more about what your going through. 6 pounds of skin wow that should be quite a difference. How long do you have to keep the drains in? Are they the JP drains like what we had with wls? I feel it probably feels like having a cesearean but maybe a little worse? I know I was miserable after all my c-sections.
ANYWAY wishing you a quick and speedy recovery!

Hi Kim,
Thanks for the good wishes. I believe that each day will be better. Right now it's not so great but my pain meds do a good job. I can't compare the pain to a c-section as my babies were born vaginally but I can say that it is worse than my hysterectomy. By the way, that scar is gone now!
The drains are exactly like what we had for our WLS but I have 2, right & left and they come out in the mons area. They are probably the worse part as it's really tender there. I haven't seen what my tummy looks like yet but tomorrow I get to shower so can take the binder off and get a better idea of what it looks like.
Right now the difficult part is standing up & walking. It doesn't hurt much but for a few days I am not supposed to stand upright. I am spending most of the time on the recliner. I can stay bent over that way.
Dixie
Dixie,
Sorry that I didn't see this yesterday afternoon! So glad that you are home and able to get up and around a bit. Those must be some good drugs. Did you do the full belt - all the way around? Wow I can't imagine 6 pounds. So, now from your weight before surgery, minus the 6 pounds, what weight will you be at? I'm sure that you will look "gorgeous, darlin'"!
Hang in there and get well fast. We're all on the edge of our seats waiting for some pics, too. I'm sure that you can do that because you are a computer guru!!
Take care of you!
God bless,
Andrea

Nope not the full belt, just the front for now. This surgeon prefers to do it in 2 steps. He feels that it's too hard on the patient to do both sides at the same time. I know I wouldn't want to be cut all around but most surgeons do it and I know the patients do well. I believe Judi had hers done that way.
I was hoping for 10 lbs but 6 is ok too. I am now around 185 but that should improve some soon if my bowels ever start working again.
Tomorrow I get to shower so I'll be able to see his handiwork. I'll try to take a picture before I put the binder back on. If I can make it modest enough, I'll post it too. I have to sit up to the desk to deal with the photos so it will be a few days yet.
