Belated Happy Valentine's Day to all Goals this week, get into 170's, am 181 now I want to hit that century mark before April 20th, my 1 yr anniversary Drink more water doing better bought some protein shakes hopefully this will help kick start was on a plateau forever. doing ok with eating. In a few days I will be 10 months out. From 265 lbs to 181 lbs. From size (in pic) size 4x shirt & men's size 52 jeans down to 16 jr jeans & 16 shirt or lg. down from size 11 shoe to a 10! Goal weight of 150 doesn't seem that far away anymore Oh & I weigh the same as when I graduated high school in 1973! Feel like that's a real accomplishment. To those with diabetic & blood pressure, I went off my meds 2 months after surgery. Waiting on blood tests to see how cholestrol is doing now. AND I visit cardio dr next month for tread mill testing to see what's going on with the heart now. It would be wonderful to be able to throw all meds out, but I have thrown out so many now that this journey has been worth more than a million dollars to me. Have a good week all. Hugs Carolyn

Carolyn, Good afternoon. Wow - you are doing so well!! I remember those 4 and 5X clothes. I was in a 5X or 32/34. Isn't it funny how your feet have gone down a size also??? So, you weigh what you did in high school, with the new hairdo and stuff, do you feel like a high schooler again, too? So glad to hear that you have been able to get rid of so many meds. You will have to keep us updated on how that cardio visit goes. With the way that you are going, you will be at your goal weight before you know it! Keep it up! God bless, Andrea

Happy Belated Valentines Day! I have been kind of a stranger on here lately. My goals are 1) Get my but out and do more walking!! 2) Work on getting more water in...for some reason since surgery I am having a heck of a time getting enough water down. I'm doing OK in the protein department...I make a shake in the morning and one at bedtime and I take my meds with it. I use vanilla whey, and add ice,SF frozen strawberries,1/2 banana, 1/2 packet splenda...pretty yummy, and a little water so it will blend (about 2oz.) I don't have an official weight loss until I go to the Dr. next month, but according to my scales I have lost a little over 40 since surgery, 19 before, so a GRAND total LOL of a little of 60 lbs. I'm down from a 24 levi to an 18, and wearing 16/18 tops!! Hope everyone meets or exceeds their goals this week...Good Luck! (((HUGS))) Debi P.S. See you guys tomorrow night at meeting!!

Debi, Hey - I didn't get to talk to you at the meeting. I was chit chatting and turned around and Theresa had whisked you away to talk to someone else. How are you doing? You look really good - I can really tell the weight's coming off!! Wow, from a 24 to an 18 and about 60 pounds - what an accomplishment! Those shakes sound good and like a good way to get meds down and extra protein in. Good for you! Well, I like to count the GRAND total of weight loss, too. Kudos and keep up the good work! God bless, Andrea

Well I am almost 3 months post op and while I was hoping to make my 50# mark at this point, I may be a couple lbs short. Not beating myself up about it though. It is still early in the game and I think I am doing pretty good. Current Goals are as follows... 1) do the treadmill min of 4 times a week 2) when on treadmill do at least a full mile 3) take a 3 month post op photo and post it in my profile 4) maintain my protien intake 5) make good food choices 6) pass my first blood work-up since surgery, (appt 2-18-05) Thanks for that tidbit quantifying the muscle weight vs fat. I always knew that muscle weighed more but it is nice to know how much. Sherri

Sherri, Hey - almost 50 pounds at 3 months is a wonderful accomplishment! Sure would like to see a new picture! Are you still eating good and making good choices? If I had it to do over again, I would eat more fruits and veggies as soon as I was able to tolerate them. I have to force myself to get fresh things in (except for lettuce and bananas). Now, about the fat vs. muscle weight, I'm going to have to talk to the trainer again because a muscle builder here at school said that it takes a LONG time to gain a pound of pure muscle, so maybe I'm just kidding myself. I am confused now. Although, that has motivated me to watch the eating more closely again. Keep up the great work! God bless, Andrea

Hi everyone. I'm 10 mo out (yesterday) and am down 112 lbs. I feel great and therefore am having trouble with my eating and exercising. Afterall, I feel so good, why would I want to do all the stuff I'm still supposed to do!!! My goal is to get out walking (love this Iowa weather) and do less snacking. Sweets are my main problem right now. I'm wearing 12's which is great and have on a new pair of size 10 slacks on today (can't they ever get the sizing right). I normally would never wear a 10, but boy does it sound great to say I do!!! Hope everyone else is doing great -- just holding my breath for spring. Oh yeah, I bought my new leather chaps and jacket for the motorcycle. Boy was that fun!!!! Janie 272/160/145?

Janie, Wow - leather chaps and jacket for the motorcycle???? Guess that I never pictured you as a motorcycle momma!! Too fun! Do you drive one too? I haven't in a long time, but used to drive my hubby's when we were younger. Isn't it the truth that when you feel better, it is harder to work hard on those food habits? Do you eat real sugar sweets with no dumping? I am thankful that I dump - I think Wow - 112 pounds, size 10's AND leather chaps - WOWOWOWOW!! We need pictures of that! Hope your week is going great! God bless, Andrea

Jesi, Hey, I miss you!!! How are you doing? Have you figured out what is causing the ulcer to flare up again? How is the sinus stuff? Hope that you are feeling better. I will call you this weekend. Wow - can't imagine size 8's. (By the way, do you have any 12's left?) 20 pounds more and you will be soooooooooooo tiny!! You are a great inspiration to me! Hugs and God bless, Andrea
