Hi all. I have returned to the land of high speed computers.(ie :work ) My pc at home is a dinosaur so no way could I cruise the boards. SOOOO many new names and faces. I haven't read posts since the first week of January so I am waaaaaay behind the times. I had surgery Jan 10th (RNY, lap). BIG thanks to those of you that posted to my sisters updates, and your thoughts and prayers. Everything is going well. I had some 'kidney/bladder/ not-urinating' issues at the hospital. My wonderful nurse finally talked Dr G into giving me a diuretic. In 3 hours I had 2500cc output. Boy, did I feel better!! I am down 27 lbs since surgery, 38 since my highest in November. I can see it and feel it. Have already been able to wear a pair of pants out of the 'too small' box! Am tolerating foods and liquids very well. Has not been difficult at all to get in my fluids or proteins. I am not hungry and as a rule have not craved anything except a cracker. Something dry and CRUNCHY on my tongue. I graduate to the next diet phase on the 22nd. I have it marked on the calendar. So far I have not had any moments of "what have I done". So far........ I have tons of energy, until I overdo it, then it is time to sit for a while. I have been 'spring cleaning' and re arranging. Had my sister come help with the 'heavy' lifting. My blood sugars are running between 86 and 140, on no meds or insulin. I am having a little trouble with all my pills/vitamins and my crazy swing shifts at work. Can't take this with that, or that with this, etc. I just tell myself that it will be better in a few months when I don't have to take anything besides the supplements. Ohhh the power of positive thinking. I am glad to be back at work and back to this board!!!! I am going to try and read as many posts as I can, but right now, duty calls! hugs and prayers Sheila

Welcome home my friend I'm so happy to hear you are doing ok. And the diabetic thing isn't it the most wonderful of all? I think I was 30 or 35 down when my meds were flushed down the toilet. To this day I tell people that if nothing else the surgery was worth getting rid of the diabetes & blood pressure You are doing fantastic keep up the good work. Remember to rest though! Hugs Carolyn
