Hi, I have my surgical consultation on Thurs. Feb. 10th in Cedar Falls with one of Dr. Glas****s PA's. At the informational seminar they made it very clear that they do NOT do payment plans. My concern is that my Out of Pocket maximum for Wellmark BCBS is $6,000. That means I will some how have to come up with $4,800 before they do surgery(that is 80%). Does anyone know of other hospitals that take payment plans after the surgery is done? Thanks Kami

Mercy Capital in Des Moines does payment plans. I am having surgery there on Tuesday the 8th.

Kami, Are you sure that you understand your plan? You might want to check that out. All I know is that I had to pay about $200 before surgery & later that was refunded. I don't have BCBS but I always thought they were pretty good. Dixie

I work at a small hospital and our rates are extremely high due to other co-workers unfortunate health problems. In order to cut costs the hospital I work for decided to up the deductible and out of pocket max. in order to save themselves money and also in order to not have to pass the extra monthly expense onto it's employees. Please HELP, I am desperate to be able to be healthy once again. I long to be able to play with my kids the way my mom played with us! Kami
