I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but exactly how do you prepare these mixes? With milk? With water? And on the carb countdown milk, do you mean you just drink that straight? Or do you mix something into it? jean

Jean, Alone, the Carb Countdown milk has 12 grams of protein, 100 calories & only 2 grams of sugar. I don't add anything to it & just drink it like regular milk. I buy the chocloate because I never have liked milk but do like chocolate. It's really good heated up for hot chocolate this time of year when it's cold. It is kind of sweet so if sweet things make you a bit nausous you can mix white with the chocolate. I was never able to find a protein drink that didn't make me vomit & could not tolerate meat for a long time so I drank flavored soy milk mixed with soy protein powder bought at GNC. Apparently the whey proteins that most protein drinks are made from was the culprit for me. The soy milk is good & the soy powder was almost tasteless so it carried me through those difficult first months. Must have done the trick as my hair never got thin due to lack of protein. I concentrated on getting as much protein from my foods. I ate a diet rich in yogurt (Blue Bunny has a no sugar added as well as a very good low carb style), eggs, cottage cheese, & other cheese at first. Then I slowly added tuna, shrimp, & canned chicken. Next came regular chicken, turkey, fish and ground beef. Finally pork and I am now finally eating roast beef but still can't eat steak. I get at least 60 grams a day. I know that is hard to do early out without protein drinks but most doctors want you to get away from them as soon as you can. Good luck. Dixie

Jean, I used Isopure that you get at GNC. I liked the chocolate and strawberry flavors. I know that they have new ones out there as well. It is pricey, however, if you sign up for a gold card and go on certain days of the month you get 20-30% off depending where you go. I know that Merle Hay Mall store gives 30% off and that is where I always got mine. One serving is worth 50 grams of protein!!!!! I mixed it with water most of the time so it would not count as a meal. I tried milk and that was really to rich for my tastes and so I went back to water. Isopure was the only one that I could tolerate at any time with taste and flavors. Good luck. Stephanie
