2nd consultation with Iowa City

This is my first post, so I hope Im doing it right. A week from today (Jan 27) I have my 2nd consultultation. I am just wondering what to expect. I have been on the diet that they put me on since Nov 17th. As of yesterday I had lost 21lbs. Is this the appointment that will decide whether or not they submit me to my insurance co?? Im very nervous, anyone who had there surgery at the University could you letmeknow what to expect?? Thanks in advance, Nancy

Hey! I live in Dubuque, and I have my 1 month followup appointment next Thursday also! They will evaluate how you've been doing on the diet and the stupid food diary. Have you done all the other things your insurance requires? Psych eval and another doctor referral...if you did those, bring the reports and if they think you've done ok with the diet they'll submit everything to your insurance. I think you've done great! Maybe I'll see you in the waiting room! molly

Hey we have a lot in common.....I too am in Dubuque and I had my surgery at the U of I!! hey 21lbs is great....that is a lot more than I lost on the diet!!! I think I lost 12lbs......Are you sure they haven't already submitted to insurance??? Usually they do that right after they accept you into the program.......After the weight check if you did good, they usually set you up for surgery.......give you a date and get all your pre-op testing set-up etc!!!! Do you have your journal all filled out? We should meet! I had my surgery last Dec and am down more than 130lbs! Take Care and hope to hear from ya~ Jesi
