Hi All, Been a while since I posted. The Can****rip was awesome still haven't developed my film yet but will try to share pix when I get them. Got a bit of a tan, it was 80-85 there that whole week. Went horseback riding (my arse hurt for three days) and went jet ski-ing and snorkeling. I am now 2 months 1 day post op. I am down 38 lbs. I admit I have gotten a little discouraged this last month because the weight hasn't been dropping like I would have hoped but I believe I was on a plateu? I was still dropping weight but verrrrrry slowwwwwwly. When I got back to work on the 10th I checked my weight and I was down 30. Now I check my weight again today I am am down another 8. I stepped on and off the scale 3 times before I actually believed it. Is this what happens when you come off a plateu? Seems like a lot of weight in one weeks time but I'll take it. Things I have noticed post op: I do not look pregnant anymore. My tight jeans a month ago are now loose. My face is thinner. My figure is starting to come back, my breasts no longer rest on my belly. (They stand up at attention). I am considering the possibility of tucking in my shirt soon- something I haven't done in ten years. My attitude is much more positive. I take more pride in the way I look, wearing makeup more, doing my hair. I love ice cold skim milk/before WLS I could take it or leave it. I do have one closing question? I have tried both the chocolate and vanilla WHEY protien from Wal-mart and I just cannot stomach it any longer. Anyone have some good suggestions for protien drinks? Are the ready made shakes any better? I thought about trying out GNC but thought I would ask the experts here first. Any suggestions?????? Sherri

I have yet to find a protein shake that you can buy at a local store that I like I order mine all online, they taste good, and are cheaper too! If you want I can send you samples of mine, and tell you where I order them from......I have tryed tons of protein drinks....I finally gave up on store boughten ones and ordered a whole bunch of samples online and thats how I found the ones I use! I hear that the slimfast lowcarb canned ones are good.....you might wanna try those too! I am glad you had fun in Cancun, sounds like a blast! I am still bummed I missed seeing you! Oh well, next time! The whole weightloss thing is crazy, it seems slow at one minute then like you said, it picks right up!!! Your body starts and stops, as it needs breaks! you are doing fine! Take Care Jesi

I am 2 weeks post-op tomorrow and am already having a struggle with the taste of the protein sups. This morning I did mix AE Chocolate Milk with Splenda with a packet of Isopure Vanilla. Added Ice and put it in the blender. That was not bad at all. I think that is the way I will go for now. There are 50 Gm of protein in that one packet so I am done for the day. With my small amounts of food, I can get the other 10 Gm I need. At first I thought I could do the Prostat, but it is sooooo strong! Yuk! I don't think I can do it. Always good to hear of what works for someone else! Thanks! Mary

Hi Mary, Where do you get the ISOPURE? I have heard of it but I haven't seen it anywhere yet? Of course I have only looked at Walmart and the local grocery stores which doesn't say much. How are you feeling at 2 weeks post op. Noticing any changes yet? It is an exciting time, it is fun noticing all of the little changes that will start to show themselves in the next month. Keep us all posted... Sherri

You can get isopure at GNC. They also have a clear isopure in ready to drink bottles...it is fruit flavored. There's orange, berry, cherry, grape...it is really good. 40g per bottle, but not cheap and has to be drank really cold.

Hi Mary, I have heard that we can only absorb a maximum of 30 grms. of protein at a time. That athletes can absorb more. I hope you don't find me condesending...just wanted to help. Hugs, Debi

If you have had such a stall in your weight loss, could be you are not getting enough calories. There is a protein powder at wal mart called ARIA that comes in chocolate or vanilla. It is not so bad when mixed with milk...this is coming from the QUEEN of "I can't stand protein drinks" This is a soy/whey mix, and REALLY, it doesn't taste bad...only costs 8.97, too. Also, Try carnation instant breakfast...no sugar added...the blue box. It is powdered, comes in packets, and in strawberry, chocolate and vanilla. The chocolate is very tolerable, haven't tried the other 2. It also comes in ready to drink 4 packs. If you can't do protein drinks at all, have you tried cottage cheese with salsa? This is SO good! Cottage cheese has 13-15 g per 1/2 cup! Add 1/4 c shredded cheese to that and you have 21 g per serving!

Hi Tracie, I have seen the ARIA just haven't picked it up yet. The cottage cheese thing sounds good. I will definately try it. Sounds like something I will be able to get my kids to eat too. Thanks for the info... Sherri~

Hi Sherri, I use Labrada proplete gold protien powder and mix with the low carb milk. Go to www.netrition.com. Lots of flavors and low carb.
