13 lbs of skin and one golf ball shaped hernia fixed, and here I am!

carolyn actually they did a full belt lipectomy but title 19 says its the same thing to them as a panni. same payment, etc. I dont know who the iowa foundation is, i dont know anything about it, sorry. I have never once dealt with them. My surgeon did all the paperwork, I havent even gotten a note from title 19 or anything. I simply just went to grinnell, they take care of everything there. As far as my hernia, they didnt know about that til the day of surgery, but that probably would have gotten me a more speedy answer. It took about 4 weeks to get approval from title 19 to pay for it all. Judi

Judy- Congrats on the panni- it will be better when they take the drains out. I chickened out of the belt at the last minute, and just did the hip to hip incision. Aren't you glad it's over?! Just got the rest of my clips out on Monday, and am starting the itch- those little steri strips they put over the incision itch like crazy! Keep us posted! Hugs, Jeri H.

Yeah for you, Judi!! Congrats on getting something this major done and on the possibilities for the legs. Your doc must be good to get all of this covered from ins. I can't imagine the pain that you are in right now. Is your son helpful? Where did he go over Christmas? Was he able to stay with family or friends? Do you have more help than the visiting nurse at home now? You certainly aren't starting up a new semester next week, are you? By the way, how did the exams go? I bet you aced everything!! Sorry for so many questions - just concerned for you. Hang in there and get lots of rest and fluids for a good recovery. Remember your protein helps the healing process!
