Just wondering if anyone else experienced this. My surgeon bumped me up to a pureed diet 2 weeks out yesterday (down 40lbs allready). I tried to eat some pureed tuna salad last night, and got allong fine till I suddenly felt like I hade to throw up, which I did, but only a small bit, then I had to burp alot. This morning, I tried a little scrambled egg, same thing. Feels like I am suddenly filled with gas, and it will not go out untill I throw up. Any ideas?

Hey Kyle, no need to be too alarmed.....I know eggs and tuna are on the list of first foods to try.....but they are killer for a lot of folks.....I am a year out and tuna still makes me puke......I can just now, maybe a month ago eat real eggs.....they too made me puke! Try egg beaters, they are a lot easier to keep down(plus they have yummy flavors like cheese and onion or southwestern )........It truly is crazy what your pouch will or will not tolerate!!! At two weeks, try some pintos and cheese (refried beans) Split pea and ham soup, Bean and Bacon soup.....Cottage Cheese, ummmm Yogurt, but I would stay away from tuna and real eggs for awhile, especially since they do that to you!!! That is also exactly what happens to me when my pissy pouch doesn't like something.....pain, like bit of puke, more foamy than anything, then burps forever!!! Good luck and take care!!! Jesi

My first suggestion is to call your dr just to be on the safe side. Secondly, it sounds like you ate too fast, too much, or didn't chew...and yes, you still need to chew pureed food. You could be swallowing too much air when you eat. Buy a baby spoon, and eat with that. and wait 2 minutes between bites. Tuna salad can be hard on people, have you thought about trying cottage cheese, or what about cream of wheat made with powdered milk? Take things slow. If you threw up last night, stick to protein drinks for the rest of today. Really give your pouch time to rest once it has been disturbed. If it truly is gas, then you can try simethicone drops..they sell them in the baby aisle...they work wonders...

Morning Kyle, Only way I can eat a scrambled egg is with some melted cheese, it seems to dry otherwise. I had a piece get stuck once, no fun. Cottage cheese & yogurt are your best bet now. Blue Bunny Carb Freedom or Lite 85 are the 2 that I buy. The vanilla creme is to kill for I use to love tuna now can't stand it! You're still pretty early out yet so don't worry, this is normal. Have you tried instant mashed potatoes? Keep us posted, we're here for you. Carolyn
