Hey everybody, I got my rings off tonight. It was a nightmare and you ought to see my finger, but they are off. I wasn't fat 22 years ago when I got them put on my finger. SIGH. Well, they are off now. My only other concern pre-op is this magnesium citrate. Does it taste horrible? is it going to make me gag? Did you take the lemon or the cherry flavored when you took it? jean

Hiya Jean...Give it a couple months and your rings won't fit they will be falling off!!! I can't even wear mine now as I keep losing them and it doesn't matter which finger I put them on! That was one of my first signs that I was losing...AWESOME feeling and just think 2 more days and you'll be there!!!! I didn't have to take the magnesium citrate so can't help ya there, but best of luck!!! Keep us updated ok! Have a good day, Janet S

Hi Jean!! Congrats on getting your rings off lol! As far as the magnesium citrate, Its not much fun, but not that bad either. I had family in from Pennsylvania, and a big family get together for Thanksgiving. I thought ok what do I do Stay home and have everybody make their comments or tough it out and go. I had not gotten a whole lot of support from my husbands family. If you read my profile, my run in with MIL is explained in there lol I had to take it at 2 and 5 everybody was meeting at my inlaws at 3!!! So I did my 2 o'clock dosage, (you get one bottle and you have to mix half of it with 8 oz. of water) I just downed it as quickly as I could!! Pharmacy recommended that I not take the cherry or red flavoring as it can be miss took for blood if you doing it for a procedure, and boy did I have a procedure!!! It was very salty and lemony, sorry but quite nasty. If I can do it anyone can LOL I made it through everyone eating in front of me lol took my favorite pot luck dish (taco salad) We had a new baby in the family so I got to hold him while everyone ate, then while I was sitting there holding him, I thought "oh no, what if I have to make a trip to the bathroom"!!! Which I had already done enough by that time, that my bottom was getting very sore!! Well, I made it through and bowed out gracefully at about 6:30, my husband came to me and rescued me, said he was ready to go home!!!!!! I was sipping on chrystal light so I didn't look like a total party pooper lol and it was a nice pink drink! My MIL did finally come around, and when I was leaving, she gave me a hug and kiss, and wouldn't let go, and gave me best wishes for my surgery the next day! When I left my one sister in-law who is extremely over weight, and has diebetes, said "I don't think she should do it and thats all I'm going to say" LOL I have had wonderful support from my nieces and nephews, who are my daughters age (early 20's) Not one of my husbands immediate family came to see me, but his brothers wife, the other Deb Davis LOL and her three girls came to see me!!! He just has one brother as he lost the other one at age 18 in a car accident. So I was happy that they came!! I wish you the best of luck for an uneventful preparation, surgery and recovery!!!!!!!! Hugs to you and lighter days!! Debi (laparascopic RNY 11.29.04) Sorry this is such a long post!!!

It's pretty nasty. Hold your nose and chug. Make sure you have vasaline or Prepration H at hand and really soft toilet paper!
