Please help me. I do not like that nasty shake. What else can I do? My surgeons office said I could try something called Pro-Stat, which is more expensive then the shake that I already bought. She told me that I may have to lay off of the shake until I can mix it with something else. (which will hopefully be Monday) Any suggestions I would appreciate. She also told me to break it up into two parts if that will help me, which I may try tomorrow, but I can't get it in today. The shake makes me want to throw up. Anyway, please help me if you can. Let me know if you wanna try them I will send ya some.....Just email me your address and I can have them in the mail tomorrow!!! Take Care and know that we all struggled to find something we liked!!! I'm still pre-op, but I know what you are talking about. I think Isopure is NASTY. I hate all the shakes I have tried. They make me sick in fact. I know what the Pro-Stat is. It is about $40 a bottle, BUT, I tried it and it is not terrible. It is like a thick liquid and it tastes to me, like cherry cough syrup. It is not terrible. You could take it on a spoon just like medicine. get some and use it, you will be able to take the Pro-Stat. Are you in Des Moines? you can get it at the Mercy outpatient pharmacy. It comes in wild cherry and butter rum. I have tried the wild cherry. jean

I was never able to handle any of the protein shakes. The whey protein in all of them made me deathly ill. I used proteinex mixed with a little Tropicana Healthy Orange Juice it is pulp free and has low carbs. It helped alot in the beginning before I was able to get most of my protein from food. I am a Mercy Capitol patient as well.

Michelle, I agree with Jesi on the Elite. Have her send you a sample and then she can also give you some websites where to get it cheaply. I also like the berry flavor of Elite - and mix them all with water because I have to watch the calorie intake, but you can have milk to get more protein in. I also tried Unjury right after surgery. It has a good flavor and mixes well, but is expensive. Keep trying to find something that you can tolerate because your protein intake is so very important. Good luck and God bless, Andrea P.S. Know that we all have been there and it is a struggle to find something that is palatable.
