Sherri S. back online
OK, First off I apologize for not updating sooner. Secondly....Thank You...Thank You...Thank You for all your prayers and support for a successful surgery. The staff at Barix clinics were awesome and my family was equaly impressed with the care I was given and their attention to detail.
I have been home for a week and a half I can honestly say that I am feeling good right now. Last week was a little different story--more pain(more in my back than my incision). Getting the fluids down last week was much more difficult as well. I had to force myself to drink and drink and drink and it seemed that the container I was drinking from would never empty.
It all seemed to turn around exactly after being home one week. I am sleeping more confortably (sp?), fluids are going down much better(I never go anywhere w/o my water bottle). Full liquid stage is much better than the clear liquids stage, I think the protein helped get my energy level back up. Up until yesterday I had not ventured to guess if I had lost any weight. Last night I tried on some clothes from the "too tight" drawer and low and behold some of them fit. Today am at Mom's and stepped on the scale... showing a 20 lb loss so far. INCREDIBLE!!!!!!
2 week check up set up for Dec 1. Will talk to Dr. about going back to work? Hubby is coming with as I do not have a release to drive yet so it gives us the oppurtunity to spend some good quality time together on the drive to and from.
Well, I know this was a little lengthy but, just wanted to give you all an update....Will post again soon. Take Care All!!!!!
Sherri,
Welcome home and welcome to a very exciting journey!! You got the first several steps under your belt already - the rest will be a breeze with your committment to healthy lifestyle changes!
Glad to hear that the fluids are going down better and that protein seemed to boost your energy. Keep up the good work with both of those - sometimes it seems like a never-ending battle, but both are soooooooo necessary for your health.
Enjoy time off of work and quality time with hubby!
Again, welcome back and God bless,
Andrea
