I see my son & DIL everyday since they live next door to me & babysit the kids almost daily. Yesterday was visiting & they told me they had been putting pics in their photo albums. Carrie (DIL) said no offense but omgggggggg you were really big! No offense taken I had just looked at some pics myself & it was a WOW moment, was that really me???? Better look again! Like the kids said they see me on a daily basis & know I'm losing, but it takes a pic to SEE that I'm losing. Another OT for all you gals. Do you know the symptoms of a heart attack for women? They are VERY different from a man's symptoms. Think maybe it's your gallbladder acting up? Think again!!! Heart attacks also mimic gallbladder attacks. Symptoms that may occur are fatigue, heartburn, achy shoulders, achy body, sluggish, heavy feeling in your chest. I had never had heartburn in my life, then suddenly was experiencing it. My shoulders hurt so bad, but if I went without the bra it seemed to help. Cold season was here so it must be the beginning of bronchitis. And of course with fibro I'm always achy, fatigued anyway. I was lucky, mine was a mild heart attack with no damage but not all are so lucky. NEVER AGAIN will I ignore the signs. I'm not one to run to the doc with every ache & pain but thankfully I did with these. It's been almost a year now since this happened. I got "heartburn" from tuna sandwich!!! NEVER be afraid to get to outpatients or to your dr for an EKG, INSIST on it. I was very lucky to have a dr that recognized the signs. Hate to say this but a lot of dr's blow women off when it comes to these signs. Raise hell with them until they do the EKG, hey if it's negative fine, you are taking the right pre-cautions. We see the "Hollywood" heart attacks all the time on tv, well let me tell you that isn't what happens. And anyone else who has had a heart attack will tell you the same. We have come along way baby to be healthy! Take the extra pre-cautions & listen to your body. You can also get heart imaging done, talk to your doc about that also, hey better be safe than sorry later on! Enough preaching for one morning Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Hugs Carolyn

Morning Lori! All these years we've heard the symptoms of what a heart attack will be like, BUT those symptoms were for men. With women it is so different that alot of doc's seem to ignore what is going on. Who did you see for a cardio doc? Mine was Zajack in Sioux City, younger guy & knows his business. See my PC today & want to know a few things like how do we know if blockage is gone or is there more etc. Sure I will have to see cardio again for these answers. Not a good way to spend a b'day that's for sure. Happy to hear you are ok. Won't be long & you'll be a loser Later... Carolyn

First, congrats on the WOW moment!!!! My family does the same.....seeing the old pics of me, they can't believe I was as big as I was, me either I guess!!! It is crazy! But we should all be so proud of ourselves!!!! Now about the woman and heartattacks......They say to that womans symptoms can range to almost nothing to severe, thats why so many woman ignore the symptoms because we are so used to putting up and dealing with pain.....I am so glad you were abe to get help before anything really bad happened! I have always believed that we are our own best advocate.....so info like this is great to help us all learn a little! Thanks and have a great day!!! Jesi
