Heading Local Suport Group Meetings.....

Hey everyone...well you all know that Monica asked for people to head local chapters for support group meetings. WELL guess what I wrote in and offered. well i start my training sessions the 29th I am so excited about it. i think it will help with my own weight loss journey....and some of the issues i have. i am always offering to help people with this and talk about my experiences with all my problems before surgery and after this surgery... and what better way then head the local support group. i have notice my support group going down hill since my surgeon not doing it any more. i all so notice the people that were in charged dont want to do it any more. so i called them and talked to them and asked if they would be upset that i would do them. they said great they were proud of me for doing this. Personally me i never thought in a million yrs i would stand up and talk infront of people. i was the fat shy girl that would just sit and wish i would or had the nerve to do it. well i do now and i am going to.... so anyone close to carroll want to come to our meetings tell me when you would like to have them the time and day of the week would work best for you. i want to see if we can get towns from around here to join in with us here. and if would like me to come and head up a group close to you i would love too. just let me know email me would love to hear from anyone.....hope to hear from people from a round here............lynda

Hi Lynda, I also signed up for it & got the book yesterday. I learned soooooo much from it. Have went in & highlighted alot of stuff that I didn't know before. I have ran a support group before so I'm knowledgeable that way (always room for improvement!) but at the back of the book is where the REAL knowledge is! For the heck of it I'm going to try here (my town) & see what happens. Who knows maybe I'll get some more interested. Been hiding? Haven't seen you for a while. Carolyn

Awesome!!! I should have done that...........I drive an hour each way to go to support group, I love it tho, get to see Andrea But I know there are a lot of WLS pateints in my town and everyone benefits from support!!! I wish you luck and let me know how it goes!!! Take Care Jesi

Have you decided on a time/place/day etc? I'd be interested in joining your group but my schedule is really tight. Of course, I don't expect you to schedule around me but if you are taking votes, Monday, Thursday or Friday works best for me. Is it possible to have it some place that we can bring (5 and 7) kids? I know that is a huge hassle and if you don't want to go there, I totally understand. By bringing kids, I don't mean they'd sit in, just like if it was a library, they could sit in there. Thanks!
