Am I really approved?

I just called my insurance company to check to see if they received my paperwork from Iowa City, and the lady said they received it and it was approved on Monday. That's just 1 week to the day that the papers were sent! I'm a "believe it when I see it" person, so I'm waiting for the letter in the mail before I consider my surgery approved. I'm kind of panicing now.... when I think about the surgery I go back and forth from happy to scared... Thanks for listening, molly

I completely understand your attitude with the "when i see it, i can believe it." Debi told me that I could also check with my insurance company but I chose not to, I think because the reality would set in quicker. In my case, the insurance company sent me their approval way before IA City ever called me. In fact, I ended up calling IA City asking what the heck is going on because they are supposed to call right away. Turns out that IA City had no clue I was approved, from there it began, it was an amazing feeling, scary, but amazing. Good luck!!! Tamara

Molly, you will go threw days and lots of different feelings. i am happy you are approved. it is weird how some of us get approved fast and takes a long time for others. i was approve the very next day from when they my paper work. i felt guilty at times for being approved so fast....but i am so glad i had this surgery....if you have any questions feel free to ask any questions if you have any.....we are here for you.....lynda

How terrific to find another Molly on this message board! And it is WONDERFUL that you are approved. I just found out today that my file was submitted to my insurance company on Tuesday of this week, and that just made it one more step toward real for me. I have butterflies. You will have that approval letter in your hand in no time and you'll be on your way to a better life. Molly Too

You are right! I posted the original message while at work, and the letter was in the mail box when I got home! I really didn't think I would be approved. I'm in shock and worried about... well, everything now. molly

Molly Congratulations! One big hurdle down and ready to move on to the next "leg" of this marathon. It is normal to be happy, scared, depressed, etc. now. Hang in there - and be sure to post when you get a date! God bless, Andrea
