I am 2 weeks post op. Just went from a feeding tube to clear liquids by mouth. Is it normal to be really nauseous?

Hi Nancy, First of all welcome to the losing side Even after almost 7 months I still occassionally get nauseous. Did your doc prescribe pepcid or anything along that line? Might be a good idea to get in touch with your surgeon & let them know how you are feeling. Keep us posted. Carolyn

I was sent home with nauseua meds just in case.....Most of my nauseau went away after a couple weeks tho! I would call your surgeon and make him call in a script for you! CONGRATS again on joinging the losing side!!! Another thing that helps with the pukey feeling is to drink warm liquids........like hot broth, or hot decaf tea or coffee.....soothes the crabby pouch!!! Best of luck!!! Take Care Jesi

Nancy, Welcome to the losing side. Yes - it is normal, in my experience, to be nauseated when you first get home and are trying to eat/drink. I had to get a prescription from the surgeon for nausea. Only needed to take it once or twice, though and then I wasn't as nauseated. Welcome to a real journey! God bless, Andrea
