Al Roker is to be on Dateline Friday night. I believe at 7 pm. Is to be discussing pros and cons of WLS with various people. The preview I saw earlier this week was about him talking to the family of a man that died from it. Could be interesting. Sheila

Hi Sheila, I agree think it will be very interesting. Hope it doesn't scare off pre-op's but if you have the right kind of surgeon you will know the dangers of surgery & that's ANY surgery just not WLS. How are you doing? Hugs Carolyn

Hi everyone,I read from someone (cant remember who said it) that if your surgeon doesnt tell you all the bad along with the good RUN you dont want that surgeon!! Had to share that thought it was very good advice.Take care all and have a good weekend! Lori A.

They had a preview on the Today show this morning and Al Roker was talking about tonite's show. The guy that died had blood clots in his legs and I believe in his lungs. Apparently they had told him about the complications that could happen. What Al was saying is that people are so desparate to have the surgery that they may not be listening to all the information that is given to them about what "could" happen. That people are really overlooking the risks because they want the surgery so badly. Hopefully tonite's show will be positive -- Al is going to be on and since he's had a good outcome I believe it will be. I truly don't think I obsessed over the "what ifs" because I had a really positive (not desperate) outlook and felt this surgery was the best thing for me. And it was!!!
