KIDNEY STONES

I'm not sure if this has any relation, but I have a very large ornery kidney stone. I never had them before, but since surgery I have drank mostly crystal light tea, and then drink quite a bit of milk and have cheese for protein. Also a person in my support group had a kidney stone as well. I go next Fri 11/5 to have it lithotripsied and hope to be able to pass. Doc had put in a stent. Just wondered if anyone else had heard of something like this happening after surgery. I was never a milk drinker before surgery and always drank nothing but pop. THat's why I believe it's a mix of the two. Anyone else have this experience?

Is your stone calcium or uric acid? Anyone can get uric acid stones, from dehydraytion or any other number of ways, but calcium are a bit more unusual. Ask your urologist after you pass it, and he can tell you what kind mof stone it is and why he thinks it formed. Good luck! Jeri H.
