New to the board
Hi all, I am jean, i live in Newton and have begun the program at Mercy Capitol in DSM for the RNY surgery. so far I have had the "first RN visit",I have my first psych. appointment next week, then I also have the surgeon consult coming right up as well as the sleep study. I know I have the sleep apnea, so I'll have to be on the cpap for a month before surgery. I was hoping to get this overwith before the new year, so it minimizes my out of pocket expenses.
Anyone here with BC/BS blue choice insurance? My husband works at the main hosp. and it is their employee's insurance. I just hope the approval goes quickly, but they won't even send it in until all the tests are done and I get clearance from the sleep doctor.
it's going fast, yet slow.
sigh.
how are you guys getting your pictures up with your notes? that's cool!

Welcome Jean...Sounds like you have things rolling now, it won't be long and it will be your turn to be a loser!!! Believe me it is all worth it!!! I had BC/BS alliance select and they were fantastic only took 3 days for my approval! If ya have any more questions just know that we are here for ya!
Have a great day,

Hi, Jean! I am in the Mercy Capital program as well. Who is your surgeon? Mine is Cahalan. I have BC/BS Alliance Select and I was approved in 6 days. They were awsome. I really like the program at Mercy. I went to the support group meeting this month. I will go next month as a looser.
My date is Nov 15th. Good Luck, maybe we will meet at the support meeting.
Good Luck,
Michelle

Michelle,
Did you have to wait until you officially got insurance approval before scheduling a surgery date?
My concen is that since I am supposed to be on the cpap for a month before they will send it in to isnurance, that will be like the first week of Dec. at the earliest, then depending on how long they get the stuff sent in, i am afraid that the approval won't come quickly and then how long before I can have a date?
i am really not trying to rush into this, just trying to minimize my out of pocket because the new year brings new deductibles.
