Hey Andrea called me and is Super swamped, she asked me to post for her! So here I am.....Where is everyone at with goals and stuff! I am doing okay, you might have read my earlier post about my nacho problem yesterday, but before that I had been doing great! There is a lot keeping me busy, but the stress of it all kinda makes the day harder! I am going to start back exercising this week......I had an excuse not to with having the hysterectomy, but all is pretty much healed now, and I could use the movement to help with the constipation!!!! Doing good again with vitamins and drinking too! Now we need to hear from everyone else!!! There are a lot of folks MIA lately on these boards....lets try and wake everyone back up, even if your busy, just drop a quick *HI* and let us know how your doing! Now for the off topic question~ hmmmmm what is the best compliment you have received so far about your journey (stole this question from Dec boards ) Have a great week everyone Jesi & Andrea

HI everyone! I have been MIA lately...but I'll try to be better. Jason is doing well...he lost 105lbs and has been at the same weight for a few months and is very happy with how he looks. I have lost 163lbs and I am pregnant and doing well..I would like to loose 40 more after the baby and get down to 150...I think I can do it..I know I can do it! My mother in law is having the surgery next week at Genesis and is a little nervous and excited. I know she'll come out with flying colors. the best complement has been from an old students of mine. He is now a senior in HS and about to walk down the football field for being nominated for Homecoming King. He looked at me and said...Mrs. Paul...you look beautiful! He is such a sweet kid who's father died when I was his teacher...his father was very overweight...so he looked me deep in the eyes and said...you have just saved you life...i am so proud of you and gave me a hug! Have a great week!! Love Deb

Oh, Deb, your post about your student made me tear up! How wonderful that a senior was able to think outside of his own little world and pay you such a caring and heart-felt compliment!!! I can't imagine being down 163 pounds - you go girl!! Glad that pg is going good for you. I met your mil the other night at support group. What a small world it is! I will be there for her as much as she wants me to be. Glad that you popped in, God bless, Andrea

Hi everyone! Goals have been going great! I'm under 200 & staying there, was having some problems a few weeks ago with that. Had my 6 month checkup & Dr. is really pleased with my progress Been drinking lots of water, several day**** 100 oz now never thought I could do it but have. Most days taking in 80 oz. Compliment? Happened yesterday! Was checking out at the store yesterday & a gal I know looked at me & said hi. She looked again & said OMG Carolyn is it really YOU?? I hadn't seen her since surgery. Then saw her again last night. I glanced over her way & she was nudging her hubby & said did you see Carolyn? His mouth dropped almost to the floor. What a great feeling! And daughter Katie says I smile all the time now. And a few weeks ago a friend of mine looked right at me then at Katie & asked where I was?! Think we need to write a book For goals going to keep up drinking lots of water & get down to 190, am at 197 so working my way slowly down. Everyone have a great week. Deb & Jason you are doing great, been thinking of you! Carolyn

Hey Jesi, Great of you to step in for Andrea. I hope she is "swamped" taking a little well deserved 'Andrea time', but I bet not. I have no real goals this week. Other than to FINALLY pick up my Bi-pap machine later today. That is a long story in itself. Also need to contact my pulmonologist about the Advair and nose spray he started me on. One of them is making me very hoarse, and I just can't do that. I am a 911 dispatcher, I sort of need a good clear voice! Going to try to get to Dr. G's support group mtg next Monday. Hope everyone has a good week Sheila

Sheila, "Andrea time" - Huh - what's that? Still giggling about that one. I should be working now, but chose to get on here to post goals! Hubby is working overtime this week, so things are extra stressed for me! Thanks for thinking of me, though. Isn't Jesi wonderful - all I had to do was call her and say - "post for me please" and she was there. Just like always, she's there for me. Thanks again for thinking of me. Have a great week and God bless, Andrea

Hi Everyone! I haven't done very well with goals lately...UGH! Jesi I totally understand what your saying about the nachos, I think we all go through that! Bingeing is my biggest problem, I kick the scale every morning..hmmmmmm can someone please kick my butt maybe that will wake me up!!!! OK so here it goes.... -exercise exercise exercise -keep track of what Iam eating, nightime seems to be the worse for me! -get support group meetings up and going again My best WLS moment was back in April/May I had to go to the high school for a staffing, my daughter and 4 of her friends were coming down the hall and my daughter yells hey mom....than her friends say Kiley thats not your mom, she said oh yes it is, and they all came running to me, giving me hugs and tellin me how good I looked....I cried so hard...for the first time in my life I knew my kids too were proud of me!!!! Hope everyone has a great week, Janet S

Jesi & Andrea (and the rest), I really messed up last week with my vitamins. I keep forgetting to take them so that is my main goal forthis week. Take all my vitamins. In addition, I want to lose at least 3 pounds this week by drinking my water, eating right, and of course, getting in protein. I have had so many wonderful compliments that I can't single out just one. However, this morning I got an e-mail from my sister. I had thanked her for giving me some of the clothes that used to be Mom's. Here is what she said. " I am so happy for you and so proud of your dedication to such a life-style change...you inspire me and I hope I can learn from your inspiration. About Mom's clothes...I am smiling...that is so cool that you fit them...whether you like the style or not! So cool. Like I said, if it's possible to be smiling down upon us, Dad and Mom are smiling...if not, then we know they would be smiling if they could!" I have such a wonderful sister! Excuse me while I wipe away a tear. Dixie

Hey everyone!! First, thanks to Jes for doing this for me. I absolutely love to post and respond to posts, it is just that my schedule lately is hectic. What good goals everyone has and wonderful compliments received. My goals this week are to only have one snack in the evening, not eat the all night long. I think that I am so tired, I am hitting the food to keep awake. OLD habits are horrible!!! I will also make it a goal to get on here at least once a day to try to support as many people as possible. That's going to be it for the week. Now, in terms of compliments - my hubby tells me how wonderful and beautiful that I am every day. I am learning to say "thank you", but often say something like "no I'm not." (I need to remember to do something special for him all of the time for all of the support that he gives me.) The most recent compliment that I got was when my mom had a party a couple of weeks ago and one of the men that I used to work with walked right past me. A few minutes later, he came back and said "Andrea, is that you? I didn't know that was you at all. I didn't recognize you." He was in shock and I enjoyed the moment. Well, hope that you all have a great week. God bless, Andrea
