I talked to Dr. Coster's office today, and am scheduled for a belt panni and hernia repair on December 14. That way I'm off during winter break for rest and recuperation! Doc said he would guess he'll remove about 25 pounds of ugly fat and hangy skin. That ought to help take some of the pressure off my back and knees- I hope! Is the panni more painful than the RNY? Will I need more than 3 weeks off? I'm a pretty tough old bird, and can tolerate pain fairly well. I was off for 2 weeks with thr RNY. I'll be going home with JP drains- I hate those. Guess I better get started on my Christmas shopping earlier than I usually do! Jeri H.

Hi Jeri, I'm so happy for you Can't help you out with your questions but wanted to wish you the best. JP's are a real pain aren't they? Had one after a surgery 8 days of it. Not a hurting pain just an annoyance! Keep us posted will want to hear all about this. 25 lbs worth? WOW! Carolyn

Congrats!!! My hubbys b-day is the 14th! Yeah get your shopping done before hand for sure!!!! JP drains are a pain, but they do there job well! I couldn't imagine not having my panni.......I really would like it removed down the road, but that surgery scare me, the thought! Is the one you are doing just cutting through skin, or muscle too??? Well you will have to let us know how it goes, how hard was it for you to get approval? Take Care and have a great day.......Congrats again!!! Jesi

I had tummy tuck with muscle repair done on August 30th. I got out of surgery, was in recovery for 1 hour and then home. It was so much easier than the Lap RNY. I had two drain tubes, one was in for a week and the other for 17 days. But I was up and out of the house 2 days after surgery and back to pretty much normal activity after a week. Good Luck!!!
