This day rocks! OK.. so I was getting to the point where I was thinking that this was never going to happen for me. It has been 50 weeks since the first pre-approval request was sent out and my patience was wearing thin-but the ins. company came through. It was so worth it just to get the approval. I am so excited I am shaking. Thank you to all who have been so supportive and cheered me with words of encouragement when I was getting frustrated. It is greatly appreciated.

Thanks DeeAnn!! Just knowing that we both had the same ins company and that you were approved made me feel a lot less anxious--(I felt like they (ins company) were making me jump thru hoops for nothing.) I had heard that NGS had something like a 70% approval rate but had never talked to anyone that actually had been approved. Needless to say I was very apprehensive esp. after the amount of time it took for an answer to come thru. Then after our e-mails back and forth I felt better. Thanks Again

I almost went to the same BTC, but my insurance denied them and sent me to U of I.......was it their commercials that got you to call? They worked on me! Man you have nerves of steal...i could have never waited as long as you did......But way to go, it paid off and now you get to have surgery!!!! Best of luck and take care!!! Jesi Where abouts in Iowa are you....I am in Dubuque and for me it was 1.5 hours to get to belvidere!

You and I are just the opposite- I was working with Iowa City and then went BTC. I had initially consulted with Dr. Maher than after 4 months of working with them I decided to go to BTC. After my 3 month "diet" at IC I had lost 20 lbs and they still did not feel that was enough. I just got frustrated I guess and called BTC. (Referred by a friend of a friend) I think that IC has a good program, I just don't think it was for me. BTC is a 4 hour drive for me, (I am 2 hours NW of Dubuque) but I feel comfortable there. Thanks Again your support... hopefully next week I will be posting with a date.

BIG congrats!! I waited almost that long for the approval. Still don't have a date yet, but it is on the horizon. I'm not sure if there are any words out there that are sweeter than "YOU'RE APPROVED"!!! Maybe "your surgery date is....." ????? Sheila

I agree- sweeter than candy!! How long did you have to wait for approval? Wasn't it awful -week after week of no changes, no updates, no nothing. I think the ins company "lost" parts of my paperwork at least 4 times and we ended and had to resend. The whole process was very frustrating....

Congrats Soon you will be on the losing side! Waiting (or weighting was my fave saying) was the hardest to do. I had a mild heart attack pre-op so I was on hold an additional 3 months, was 4 months afterwards before my surgery date which was 6 months yesterday. It was worth the "weight"! Keep us updated when you are scheduled Carolyn
