AWESOME SUPPORT GROUP

I had my surgery in Grinnell. My Doctor was Todd Eibes. It is a very small hospital (only 18 beds on surgical floor) There are 4 surgeons there that do the gastric bypass surgerys. GRMC does MORE surgeries per year than any other hospital in the state of Iowa. It has an outstanding success rate as well. Every month there is a support group meeting, and 1 of the 4 doctors are at every meeting to speak on a topic and there is also an open forum of questions and answers. We have had dieticians, body image consultants, wardrobe consultants, makeovers, etc. It is an awesome group and is over 200 people strong. People who are considering the surgery are welcome to come. The next meeting will be Oct 23rd at 10:00 am. I attended before my surgery and I am so glad I did. I was able to speak with each Doctor and ask questions. In my opinion Grinnel is the best place to have the surgery. And Dr. Eibes is the best Doctor there. Feel free to contact me with questions...Kathy

Are your support meetings always on Saturday mornings? That is really neat. I would love to come to one. Are they open to people who haven't had surgery with their set of drs, tho?? What about the ps after? Do any of them do the pannilectomy or the brachioplasty? Any info you have would be great! Thanks! Tracie
