10/4/04 Roll Call and Goals (Who's here this week?)
Good afternoon all,
Sorry that this is so late, it's been a hectic day already, not to mention that I have a killer sinus infection that is making my face just POUND! I am on meds, but not sure that amoxicillin will be able to whoop this one.
How did you do on your goals last week? I did just okay, but didn't get in 5 days of exercising and did not get a log in. DID keep my emotions in check at work, however. Also, saw the dietician, surgeon and the neurologist this week. I am downto 198 pounds (that was WITH PMS). I have had labwork done 3 times this week also because the neurologist thinks that the numbness in my feet is due to a nutritional dificiency. Hopefully, I will find something out soon. I see him again next Monday.
Goals for this week:
1) Get paperwork done at school and feel "caught up".
2) Exercise 6 times - I love it and miss it when I don't get time. (Don't know how I will get this done because I work late tomorrow and Wednesday for conferences. Pity party, please........)
3) Spends a few minutes of quality time with my teenager who will be 18 soon.
4) Get over 100 oz of fluids (NOT counting caffeine drinks.)
5) Control the grazing and drink instead of eat.
That's enough goals for me. How about you?
Question of the day - what is your favorite food now, post surgery? I would have to say that cheese sticks and pretzels continue to be a staple in my diet. I also enjoy the fruit tarts and s/f bomb pops. Always looking for a new protein source and other good food ideas.
Have a great week and God bless,
Andrea
This last week was a busy one for me but I did lose a few pounds.
This week my goal is to work out 5 days, lose that last pound I need to
make it 80 pounds lost. Try to keep a food diary and keep my grazing in check. I only had to lose 100 pounds to make it to top end of my goal weight and I only have 21 more pounds to go. It seems the closer it gets the harder it gets to lose. I finally broke a plateau.
Lisa,
Wow - you are sooooooooo close to your goal. Wish that I was that close! So glad that you finally got off that plateau. Good luck with the food diary and grazing. I need to make that one of my goals again, too. Haven't kept the food log lately - seems there is no time.
Good luck on goals and God bless,
Andrea
Howdy there.....I didn't know you saw the neurologist already! HMMM does he think it is B12 or something? I did okay with goals last week....I am reporting here! I didn't exercise, but other than that I did good! I hit the gym this morning already and feels good! My goals are simple this week.....Keep sane before surgery!!! Eat well while in the hospital (three days) and not totally freak out when I come home and see the weight gain......I here you can gain like 10-14 pounds of water weight for the IV's ....keepin my fingers crossed it will be on the lower side..... Other than that, just keep doing good!
Fave foods now! I have a new one Gensoy Soy Crisp.....they are like little flavored rice cakes but they are crunchy, thin, and yummy!! I eat them with tuna or cheese....Plus they are healthy....like 25 of them has 100 calories....and 7 protein.....can't beat that.....I really like the ranch and the onion and garlic one......My other fave would have to be the fruit tart....and now that it is getting colder again, having my hot protein drinks with cool whip.....oh yeah and Chai tea (decaf) with some skim milk and a packet of splenda......Can you tell I have a food problem still, sitting here getting all excited....lol!!! Take Care Jesi

Hi All
Andrea hope you get to feeling better. I love this time of year but with it also brings the nasties Hmmm goals
1: get below 200
2: get below 200
3: get below 200
did I mention get below 200?!
Quit eating sunflower seeds, they are history. Beginning to think they are my culprit.
Drink, drink, drink....water that is!
Ride bike
Cut the carbs....bread is a big downfall for me
I have tried the Fruit 2o water from Wally world, not a bad taste, figured out today it's like watered down kool-aid. Will water mine down cheaper than buying it! I'm really into taco meat now, don't need a shell just the meat please. Still loving the cottage cheese, tomatoes & yogurt. Have a craving for salty, spicey things. For awhile couldn't keep olives in the house I craved them so bad! Over that now. I bought some Sweet Freedom ice cream bars...they are really rich! Could dump on those very easily. Just need to behave myself! Who me Well maybe someday but not today or anytime soon.
Everyone have a good week.
Carolyn,
I was home sick again today - those "nasties" have hit our family hard. Now my hubby has the cold/sinus stuff and the kids are getting over the flu. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
You will make it under 200 soon, I'm sure of it. Like you said, watch the carbs because those may be the culprits. Also, those sunflower seeds have a lot of salt on them. Could be making you retain water. They probably are good if in moderation.
Hmmmmmmmmm, taco meat, doesn't sound like something that I could crave. I eat it sometimes, but not by itself. Has to be smothered in cheese!!
Well, enjoy your ice cream bars, (I dump on the "Carb Freedom" ones, but can tolerate the plain "No sugar added" ice cream bars.)
Have a good rest of your week and God bless,
Andrea
I skipped last week, but need to get back on track. I've been basically same weight for the last couple weeks and missed a lot of my exercise last week (bad me).
So this week I already made it to Curves this am and have S/G tonite (with our personal trainer being the topic)!! Guess I better get with the program.
My goals: 1. Exercise, Exercise 2. Drink all my water 3. Exercise, Exercise 4. Drink all my water.
Do you see a pattern here?? I start my "weights for women" class on Wed and am excited about that too. My goal was to lose 100 by 6 mo and I have 6 lbs to go in 10 days. Any ideas???? My actual dr appt is the 19th.... I'm in a "settled" mode right now. My clothes fit (14/16's) and I just KNOW I will never make it into anything smaller than that!!! The last time I was this size was in high school 25 + years ago. I think subconsciously I'm getting afraid to lose more -- like I want to hang onto the fat I have left.. Any suggestions for the head games?
Sorry this is so long.
Janie
