OT: Our marching band

Our middle school marched yesterday at Carroll & took 2nd place this year Broke our 4 yr in a row of taking 1st place. The kids did great & even if they hadn't placed would still be very proud of them I also was able to meet up with Lynda & spent some time with her. Nice meeting you Lynda I did take off to catch up with our band to get some more pics of them then stayed around for the announcements on placement. We were treated to the Drum Corps from Univ of South Dakota, were they ever fantastic. Turned out to be a nice day, little chilly but better than last year's weather. For those of you *****plied to my vent...thanks! We are here for support, not flaming! I still believe in order to have success you have to have support, they go hand in hand. And this group shows the greatest support. I love reading posts on the main board & will continue to do so. I have some email pals from there so not saying all of them are bad! Hope everyone had a good weekend....Know I did with the kids placing & the Hawkeyes winning it was great!!!! Carolyn

Hi Lynda, Was great meeting you also I really enjoyed the parade what I was able to see of it. Did you go to the park for the awards? The USD band was fantastic, the Drum Corps & did they ever put on a show! Loved it, we all did. You also are doing great with your weightloss Thank you Carolyn

It was a pretty weekend, I wish I was out more in it!!! I love to watch marching bands.....always my fave part of any parade....I love to feel the music, so powerful! Rant and rave any old time ya want, I too am on the main boards a lot, so I know what you are talking about.....there are a lot of great people on there to tho!!! But nothing beats the support of us Iowa folks!!! I love it here! Take Care Jesi

Hey Jesi, How are you doing? Good luck on your surgery will keep you in my thoughts & prayers. It was a beautiful day for a parade, little chilly but a beautiful fall day. We had a great time I do get on my soapbox, but I still feel we have the best support group right here! I agree I love it here also, you can say what you have to say about what is going on with your weight & not get flamed for it. Carolyn

Hey GF haven't talked to you much lately have missed you. Had to listen to the game on the radio which means I didn't get to tune in until the 3rd quarter & they were kicking butt when I tuned in. The bus was ahead of me & I was really into the game yelling & swinging my arms the kids that were watching me & asked Katie what is she doing?! Katie said the Hawkeyes must be doing good Had a nice visit with Lynda, but I did take off to try & get more pics so we were together just a short time.
