Melinda, I'm sorry that your week went badly and that goals seemed to send you off. We all have those times where eating does not go as planned, or we feel bad for eating too much or the wrong kinds of food. Remember, tomorrow is a better day. With prayer, you will be able to do "all things". Keep up the good work = including the working out without sweating like a pig. I just want to know how you manage that - I still sweat likea stuck pig!!! Hope the cuddling was enjoyable. God bless, Andrea

A new week, a new outlook. I started my week (Sun) at my folks', up on the hill, picking up hickory nuts. There is nothing that grounds me quicker or better than a trek through the timber. The peace, the quiet, the beauty. The sunshine and fresh air. Major bonus was that my 4 1/2 yo niece was along. It is an unbelievable feeling to see the expressions on her face as she learns. She saw the nuts in the outer hulls, helped pick them up, then she watched Papa as he cracked a few and gave her some to eat. I apologize for rambling, but it just warms my heart and gives me hope. She is among my top 5 reasons to have this surgery. One more wee****il the sleep study. I have several favorite shows. Due to my crazy schedule, I tape Y&R, 7th Heaven, Everwood, Survivor and ER. Can't wait for the season premier of Judging Amy. Also enjoy Law and Order. I don't have cable or a dish but enjoy TLC shows and TVLand/Nick at Night reruns when I get a chance to see them. Am also a M*A*S*H freak. Blessings to all for a good week Sheila

Sheila, Sorry I didn't respond sooner. Ramble on, dear. Your description of your trek through the woods took me back to simpler days when we visited my grandparents' farm at least once a week. Playing in the woods, stomping through the creek, jumping hay bales................................. mmmmmmmmmmmmm, nostalgia! Sounds like you have some good reasons for surgery. Hang in there, your day will be here before you know it. God bless, Andrea

I know, I know. I'm late with my goal setting. 1. Fluids in 2. Intentional Activity If I get those things done, I'll feel like a success for the week. I've lost a total of 40 lbs since Aug 31 surgery. However, I'm throwing up every time I eat something, so that has me worried. Doesn't worry the Surgeon's office, though. They just say, go back on water and broth for a couple of days. Also, I kept throwing up my protein drink, so they switched me from IsoPure to Pro-stat. Horrid tasting. But, as long as I don't throw it up, it'll be worth it. Of course, when I throw up, there also goes my water, vitamins, calcium and anything else I thought to ingest before I threw up. Hubby is still waiting on me hand and foot, no matter how many times I've told him to let me do it myself. He was very worried during my 8 day throw up session. Aren't you glad that I've shared that? Sorry for being gross. Anyway, I don'****ch too much TV. It's often on for background noise, so I might catch 10 or 15 minutes of whatever show happens to be on. But rather than watching TV, I'm a movie addict. Have thousands of DVD's. There is always something in there that I haven'****ched, so that keeps me busy. When I was little, I used to love sit coms, Happy Days, Lavern and Shirley, 3's company, those types of shows. But, I never seem to be around the TV set when any of the modern day sitcoms are on. Well, I guess the 70's show comes on at 10:00 and I usually watch that instead of watching the depressing news. Well, good luck all, on achieving our goals! I'll keep our group in my thoughts and prayers this week. Kay

Kay, (not K), Better late then never with goals! It certainly sounds like you need to continue to bug your surgeon's office if you keep throwing up. In my opinion, too much of that can't be healthy for your new little tummy. Be sure that you are eating slowly and not too much. How sweet of your hubby to still be doing things for you.(Enjoy it!) Please call your doctor if the throwing up continues and keep us posted. Have a great week and God bless, Andrea

Well I make goals but I don't keep track if I accomplish them or not, but I did join the gym this week. So now I walk 5 days in the morning with my son and will now be going to the gym 4 days a week to do weight circuit and more cardio. Start working on firming some of this up as much as can be. Favorite shows have to tape as I also work at night but they are pretty much ER and TLC or Discovery surgery shows, also during the day is I Lost It, interesting to see how other people lose weight. On Sunday night my family and I love to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition, that show can make me cry faster than anything. Good to see that people who have had it rough are getting something wonderful happen for them. Take care all!!

Leslea, So glad that you joined the gym and are going to work out. Good luck on firming - there's no way that I will EVER be firm enough to rule out surgery! I love Extreme Makeover Home Edition, too. I can sit there and bawl and bawl and bawl!! It is fun to watch good people get something special for them. Now, if only they could come to my house...... God bless, Andrea

I am still maintaining. Need to get more bike riding in - have been real busy lately and not getting much in. Still going between 177-185 pounds. One goal is to reduce the amount of 'Mike & Ike' candy that I eat - the only treat I allow myself but eat way too many. Lester

Lester, So glad to hear from you. Sounds like maintaining is going well. Remember, the biking is good for the ole ticker, too. Now, "Mike and Ike"s? EWWWW aren't those licorice? If I were going to splurge, it would be on a snickers bar or something like that!!! Hey, what's up with the schooling? Did you decide to pursue it? Let us know. God bless, Andrea

Hi Andrea & all, Goals?! I try hard but doesn't seem to be working. Need a little cheese for my whine. Having a hard time the past week or so my weight bouncing back & forth a few lbs. I have tried getting in more water, start out ok but am lucky to get down 40 oz. Some days I get in a little more than that. I have been going back & forth from 203 up to 206 this morning 204. Just can't seem to shake it. Don't have periods so can't blame that. Yes, I'm getting enough protein, seems it's the water. Can't stand crystal lite so that's not even an option. De-caf gives me migraines. So my goal is to try & figure out what is going on with me. Keep track of intake on fitday & maybe can figure out what I'm doing wrong. Yes, am taking vitamins & calcium. This is as bad as being on a plateau! Just as depressing! Carolyn
