Goodness, Judi, you are so busy!! I'm glad that you posted, just remember to not fall asleep while typing and your hand won't wipe out everything that you just typed . Remember also, that eating right and exercise help to keep the mind sharp!!! You will do well with your classes. Can't wait to celebrate with you that another semester is under your belt. How much more to go? God bless, Andrea

Today was a horrible, rotten, terrible, bad, should have stayed in bed kinda day. (this included work, home, and weigh in) This is going to sound weird but... I now can tell by the way my body feels if I have or have not lost weight. Yesterday and this morning I didn't think I had lost anything - (I thought just maybe a pound) Well I was right the big fat scale didn't move an ounce. I stayed the same - extremely frustrating at first. (still is) but I know that it is my own fault. I havn't been living the way I should - grazing, lulling myself into beliving that a little is okay (no it is not) and now it showed. So for this life lesson I thank my father in heaven. I will also do what Joel Osteen suggested in a sermon before my surgery (paraphrasing) "let negative in and negative happens". So this platue will not cause me to binge and be depressed. This is my wake up call and I will listen and obey. I am so thankful that God blessed me with the surgery and all 57 pounds that I have lost so far. I am also grateful for this life lesson. I am sucking bad at organization and goal achieving.... 1. Keep focused on my eternal goals. 2. Pray and meditate. 3. Love my family and show that to them 4. Be kind to those who stress me out (mainly pain in the tuckiss doctors) 1b. Drink my water lay off the carbonated stuff. 2b. Find some more ways to get protein in. 3b. Exercise for my mental health and my physical health STRESS WHAT IS STRESS............ I want to eat an entire bag of cheetoes (crunchy kind) I want a regular coke, I want Ho Ho's 2 packs of them please. I could also use some of my emotional healer - (this is so gross) creamy peanut butter and pan cake syrup mixed in a bowl and eat it with a spoon. I am learning daily to deal with my stress... Andrea there is a reason you are the leader beacause you knew I needed this question asked so that when everyone is gone and asleep I won't do the above. Thank you so much for being my strength when I didn't have any tonight. I am truly blessed to have you in my life.... Tonight I will handle my stress with prayer, this board, and no food. Hugs to you all.... Melinda

DBF used to eat PB and CORN syrup (clear kind) mixed together and eaten with a spoon. His Mom told me she used to find dried empty bowls under his bed when he was younger! Anyway, have you tried the sugar free syrups? They really aren't bad and mixed with PB, would at least be SOME protein. They SF syrup satisfies the sweet cravings too. HTH! Elizabeth PS the crunchy Cheetos were my fav. too!

Melinda, OHHH my gosh - I had a whole response typed for you and hit a button that erased it all! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH First - sorry that I did not respond earlier. I went to bed early last night and only had time to respond to a few posts today. Secondly, PB and syrup - EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW that sounds gross and I almost dump just thinking about it!! Third - I think that the scales are letting in the negative. I absolutely can't weigh every day or I would go nuts if I did not see immediate, daily progress. Just can't do that! MAKE yourself weigh only once a week. About the goals = You will do well on them. You can control the grazing - quit the pop and move on with healthy lifestyle changes. Remember, today is almost over and tomorrow is a new day. "His mercies are fresh and new every morning." 'nuff said? Now, about being a "leader" - NOT!!! If that question was meant for you, Melinda, you know that it was devine intervention that made me post it. Now, back away from the cheetos, stear clear of the pb and syrup and work hard to continue to make those healthy lifestyle changes that you have been working on. You WILL be able to achieve your goals and you WILL have a successful week. I have faith in you! Remember that I'm here for you and God bless, Andrea

My goals for the week are to 1. Not stress anymore about the scales not moving. Just be patient, keep exercising, eat correctly & it will happen eventually. (Can you tell, I'm having a hard time believing those workds?) 2. Try to be more organized at home. 3. Today I got up early & walked 3 miles. So far today I have walked 15,500 steps and I still have 1 1/2 hours to work. I plan to walk again on any day that I don't go to workout. In addition I want to make use of the fitness room at work during my 15 minute break. 4. Get more sleep. I feel asleep in my car last week after turning off the ignition but before I could get the door open. I awoke a half hour later terrified in the dark. I still want to eat when stressed or angry. I just try to stay away from the kitchen. My problem is eating when bored. Weekends are bad because I'm home nights. I just try to stay busy or snack on only things good for me. Dixie

Dixie, The scales will move - I know they will. Heck, I weighed at the gym tonight because I was feeling bloated and the scales says that I'm over 200 again. I'm totally blowing it off because I know that it is just the fluctuations of the body and the scales is different from those at the center where I normally weigh. So, just know that the scales will drop for you, especially with all that you do. Wow - 3 miles and all of those steps is a lot of moving! Remember, muscle weighs more than fat and I'm sure that you are building muscle. I'm really concerned about this falling asleep in the car thing, Dixie. I fall asleep at the computer, but in the car????? YOU MUST GET MORE SLEEP!! Get some rest and take care of yourself, will you please? About that stress - I'm going to try to get out or stay out of the kitchen whenever I feel stressed. Thanks for the idea. Hang in there and God bless, Andrea

I am still a Pre-op, but here are my goals for this week 1. Clean house and have laundry done before surgery 2. Try not to keep worrying about the surgery 3. Drink more water 4. Walk more Did everyone else think about, worry, and have second thoughts about the surgery? Or am I on my own on this? I have 2weeks to go and I keep worrying about it. I am normal? Kris

Kristine, Glad that you posted goals - pre or post op are welcome here!! I remember worrying about everything before surgery. I was a madwomen making sure that all the shopping was done, the house clean, the laundry done, etc. Know that you are absolutely normal in worrying. I think that everyone has some anxiety about it. Heck, a couple of days before hand, you wouldn't have wanted to be around me. I was a basket case. Would I do it over again - yep. Hang in there and God bless, Andrea

Andrea, have I said I look forward to Monday 'Goal Call' ? ? You and so many others on here are such inspirations with your kind and positive words. The energy and positive vibes just flow on this site. My goals remain the same........water and protein. I know I need to walk more and Gazelle more, it is just so difficult right now. So that will be a new goal. I will also remain patient, waiting for my sleep study on Oct 5th. Am on their cancellation list so maybe it will be sooner. As for your question, it depends on my state of mind as to how I handle the stress, but unfortunately, it usually ends at the fridge or cupboard. Blessings and hugs to all Sheila

Oh, Sheila, how kind of you to say that. My philosophy is that if we all support at least one person every time we are on the boards, this will be the most supportive boards on this site. Besides, I learned from the best, people like Elizabeth and Laurie! October is right around the corner and after your study, hopefully you will get a surgery date soon. Keep working on those healthy lifestyle changes in the meantime. Boy oh boy, don't we all have this horrible problem of feeding stress with food??? I have to talk to my psychologist about it because I still don't handle stress well, although I found that chewing s/f gum helps. Have a great week, Sheila and God bless, Andrea
