joint soreness
Has anyone who is out at least 6 months had any problems with joint soreness and severe muscle aches? I have spent the past week walking the floors at night due to terrible pain in my joints, especailly my shoulder areas and my hips. Was wondering if maybe it is that I am lacking something due to the surgery. I can't get into my doc for 2 weeks and just hate to spend hours in the e.r. for this, as it is really not an emergency. Seems if I go there they always want to pop an iv in and I have terrible veins and it takes more time to start the iv than to see the doc!
I have fibromyalgia so can relate to joint/muscle pain! And also arthritis in my hip which has made walking almost impossible. I think it's getting better, but with weather changes I get to hurting pretty bad. BTW I'm 5 months out. Just wonder if you are low on potassium. Have you had your blood work-up's yet or do it on a regular basis? Do you take any forms of calcium? Just an idea about the potassium. For myself I'm telling ( not asking) my PC for blood work-up's every 3 months & will do so from now on. They send me a copy also & I send it on to my surgeon so they have it on file. Sorry can't be of any real help to you.

Thanks Carolyn. My sister also has fibro. and I am wondering if it is not the culprit here. Can't get into my m.d. for 2 weeks, and I tell ya, I have had little sleep. Hurts to lay, hurts to sit, hurts to walk... on top of it have caught a nasty cold with coughing till I choke. We are to leave for vacation to Florida and Mexico this weekend, and ugh... I am not looking forward to it. We went last spring and I was sicker than a dog then too! Maybe vacations just are not meant to be for me. I care for my 81 year old mom, who is continuous care, here in my home. And the past 2 weeks have been pretty rough. She has Altzhimers so I can't get in a quick little nap either. I guess life is that way, and we just have to do what we can to handle it. I did have my blood work done a few weeks ago and was real short on B-12, but have started the supplements, but I suppose it takes time for those to get into the system. I don't think that would cause the joint pain though, as the surgeon said it causes permanent nerve damage if left untreated, but no mention of joints. I hope you are doing well with your weight loss and take care. Thanks again for the imput!
