Good afternoon everyone. How did your week go last week? I did okay on goals - worked out 6 days and even did some strengthening exercises with bands this holiday weekend. Hit the carbs some last week, but there was an excuse for that (you know, ladies). All in all, I feel that I did well, except for the part about keeping my sanity !! Goals for this week include: 1) Things have changed at work, so I need to be positive and hold my tongue (AT ALL COST TO MY TONGUE!!), Be positive, be positive, be positive........................ 2) Limit starches 3) Snack only once in the evening. 4) Work out as much as possible. 5) Do something positive and special for each of my kids and my hubby this week. (A little extra "momma time", etc.) Now, what are your goals? Question of the week??????? Is there anything new and different that you still want to accomplish in your life? Besides everything that is tied with this surgery and newfound health like running, riding bikes, etc., I think that I would like to be a missionary or teach in another country. I think that it would be an awesome experience for my entire family! How about you? What would you like to do? God's blessings to each and every one of you this week, Andrea

Andrea, I am amazed at how with all you already have to do that you keep this site going as far as keeping us focusing on goals etc. Well I had been having a lot of problems with snacking and seeming like I was always hungry, also had a reason and just have to realize that 2 weeks a month I will go through this, but last THursday I think I finally hit OVERFULL. I was sick for 3 days straight then ended up with sinus infection. I spent my labor day weekend sleeping just trying to recoup. Goals: Walk every day/do Ellipitical 1/2 hr every morning and get into using my weights and bands 3 times a week. I would like to go back to school for something just haven't decided yet what. I love school always have but can't decide what to do. I love painting, photography, ceramics etc. All are hobbies so not really something that would be life changing like being a missionary. THat's a good question to think about, will have to get back to you on that one. Take care, good luck to you and all with goals physical, personal, and spiritual.

Leslea, I love the goals - it keeps me grounded and makes me take an honest look at what I do every week as well. Do you really think that you were sick because of eating too much? I am starting to feel like I am getting a cold. Don't have time for that in my life at all right now!!! I am fortunate that I still don't think I experience true hunger. Every now and then I feel an "empty" pain in my little tummy, but not usually. Great goals with the exercising. I love it sooooooooo much - I'm hooked, I think. Have you thought about taking some community education classes? At least around here, they are offered through the community college, usually and do not usually count towards credits, however, are more for fun and experience. Have a great week and God bless, Andrea

My goals are to call my PCP this week when he returns from vacation to have him resend some papers to my ins. co. needs for "pre-approval," and to try an keep my sanity as I begin my 3rd week of working full time and going to college full time. I would like to be approved and have a successful surgery so I can finally enjoy life to the fullest.

Hey, Lizard Girl, good luck with the approval process. It is not a fun process. Good luck to you with working and going to school full time. That is enough to drive anyone crazy!! God bless, Andrea

Hi My goals this week are to get over this darn infection from my last surgery. Drink more water, walk a little more. And get out of mom and dad's hair. I'm doing all right, but don't understand the pain, (from this hysterectomy surgery), but go back tomorrow for another checkup on it. I did do some more walking. But needed to do more. Sorry so short, but gotta get going. Take Care Lisa Young

I feel like a bum! I haven't posted a Roll Call in quite some time. I am bummed to hear you are stressin from work, it doesn't sound good, and I wish you the best! I miss ya and wish we could have seen eachother, I still am way excited to see your haircut Tons of stuff has been going on with me and none of it very good As of today I have been bleeding since the 15th of August, last friday they got me into my gyno and I am really really anemic and having to bump up my iron....they also put me on some pills to stop the bleeeding......I had to take 5 the first day four the second and so on(still spotting now)......I have an appt the 13th to set up an ablation......since I am only 26 and my insurance is changing dec 31st, no-one wants to do the hysterectomy......I guess with the ablation they burn away the lining of your uterus so you have no more bleeding for a couple years.......we will see.....HOPING it helps.....I am about at my wits end with the non-sense! The 17th of August I went to the acute care with really bad and scary stomach pain (you knew about this) They sent me home saying I had a virus of some sorts and gave me pain pills.......It was darvocet, I took a total of three but they never helped me really.....here it is September something and I am still in pain, sometimes it is severe and sometimes it is tolerable......I contacted Iowa City again and they are going to see me Thursday, sounds to them like an ulcer....I will probably get scoped Scared of that! To make a long story short (sorry) I have just been feeling like POOP!!! I have exercised a few times and I am eating so-so.......but I haven't been taking my pills like I should, cause it hurts, I haven't been drinking like I should because the pain, and I have been eating mainly carbs because they go down good and I am depressed.......with the bleeding I am so week I just nap all day......I got some antidepressants, and with the extra iron (that hurts my tummy) I am hoping to get some energy! Wish me luck! Jesi

Hi, I know what you're going through. I had bleeding problems since the very beginning of my menstruation life. This last time, (still bleeding) it's been just about 6 months straight. 4 weeks ago I had the ablation and a D&C and still bleeding wouldn't stop. I went to Dr. Eibes. He told me that the only thing that would stop the bleeding was the hysterectomy. So August 23, I had a total abdominal Hysterectomy. Some complications, but slowly slowly getting better. Dr. Eibes used to be or also is a gynecologist, and he said that this was his hobby, I'm only 29 years old. He told me that I should have had this done years ago. Boy, my depression has been up there too. I am and will pray for you. Just thought I would put a word in. Take Care Lisa Young

LISA, I am going thru similar mensus problems. I've always had heavier bleeding, but since my RNY I started bleeding for 2 weeks at a time with heavy cramping and bleeding. With a week of bad pms before..so i actually only had 1 good week a month...my poor hubby (and me too!). My GYN put me on Seasonale to try to stop my periods so ill only have 3 per year. Umm..needless to say THAT didn't work... in 90 days i only had 11 days that i DIDN'T bleed. ugh.... Sorry to be so personal.. but during the seasonal i had absolutely NO sex drive..and that caused even more problems between hubby and me. THEN my GYN switched me to the Nuva Ring, as he thought my RNY malabsorption made me malabsorb the hormones in the seasonale. The ring absorbs right thru the vaginal wall and bypasses the stomach. Well, that hasn't worked the best either.. i've bled thru on it, and cramped terribly, and still zilch sex drive. Im going back this friday (the 10th) to see him again to discuss ablation..or possibly hysterectomy if i can. NOW FINALLY: here's my question.... What would you suggest as you have had both done??? How did either effect your sex drive??? I really am desperate here.. anyone else *****ads this i would love input... if you dont want to post as it's too personal..please email me.. Thanks! ~~Dawn Phillips
