I get so frustrated when I read the main board with how stupid people are! Example: I feel sick. I'm 3 weeks out and when to KFC and at chicken. DUH! They need to give intelligence tests before approving people for this surgery. If I ate something I'm not suppose to, I certainly wouldn't confess my sins on the message board! Just opens you up for criticism. I just don't understand why people go thru this surgery only to fall right back in the same old bad habits as before!! Makes no sense to me at all. I know I'm not perfect. The demons are still there. I get stressed and I want to graze. But at least if I'm gonna graze, I try to make it a healthy snack, not sugar, fat or alcohol. I think most everyone on the Iowa board follows the rules. We all fall off once in a while, but we don't really go out and eat KFC at week three! Okay, I've ranted enough. Hope everyone has had a great weekend! Lyn 262/192/142

Hi Lyn I posted the same kind of vent I believe last week. I've yet to understand why people set themselves up for sabatoge! Especially so early out then they whine when they end up sick or had to call their surgeon or end up in ER due to a stricture. Yes, I believe we are pretty honest here on Ia Board for myself sunflower seeds are my downfall, trading one evil for the other! By eating those (kind I have to shell) I'm not smoking nearly as much. Peanuts bothered me before surgery & have still after surgery whereas lettuce was a no-no before surgery & doesn't bother me now! Far as KFC yuk! Doesn't even sound good here although a friend took me out for lunch yesterday & did eat part of a thigh & had cooked cauliflower & broccoli & my other side was mixed veggies. Before surgery it would have been burger/fries/soda. It's amazing when we know better how we can change our habits. Yes, I've tried fries, they have lost their appeal, DID I SAY THAT?? My opinion for those that go back to their old habits they weren't ready for surgery! Ok, had my say never could keep my mouth shut! Have a great day! Carolyn

Lyn, Lets see three weeks out i was still in the hospital and not allowed to have any thing to drink i wasnt suppose to swallow anything. six weeks out i was just on my liquids. this is how i feel people hear about those kinds of people how cheat and dont follow the diet like they are suppose to and end up sicker then a dog or in the hospital cuz of problems that gives this surgery a very bad name so why would insurance want to chance it. by all means i am no angel i do snack at times but then there are days where the site of food turns my stomach. I never thought food would do that to me. Honestly since i have had this surgery i dont like going out to eat cuz i really cant find foods i like to eat. I can not eat deep fat food at all. so if i take the kids to Mcdonalds i get a salad or if i go to burger king i get the chili. cuz that is all i can handle...well i will let you go........ lynda
