Hi eveyone, First of all, I want to thank you all so much for your great support the last few days with the whole plastics escapade. I'm totally comfortable now with waiting. Dr. Hardy (my post WLS surgeon) said yesterday that I'm still lossing weight at a great clip and my tt would just be botched because I would end up with more loose skin. And, the smoking thing as well. I'm thinking maybe I'll wait until I'm 2 years post op to consider plastics. BUT, I do have to have my hernia repaired THIS MONTH I'm SO scared of another surgery....... I didn't freak with the plastics because I knew it would be at least 6 weeks away, but I will be having this hernia repaired sooner than later. I have herd this is going to be much more painful then WLS. OH LORD, I was such a wimp then! I'm going to see Dr. Hardy's partner to find out if I am a Lap candidate. I'm not sure if that's how I "want" to go, but I do want to hear what he has to say. I do that this coming Friday. I will be sure and let you know when surgery is scheduled. Ok, Now the NEVER AGAIN part! My pouchie has been hurting now since 6:30 last night! I wish I could but I can't! My hubby decided he wanted Chineese food last night, I thought that sounded great for something different. He got Beef and Brocilli, and asked that the Brocilli be WELL COOKED (for me). They did a GREAT job! So, I had 3 tbsp. of this mix with NO RICE. (been told rice hurts pouchie). OMG! The Brocilli about KILLED ME! I even ate only the SMALL pieces of it. It feels like it's stuck. I hope it goes away. NEVER AGAIN will I eat brocilli! I know that is what it is because I do great with beef and their beef is more tender then my hubbys. SO, BEWARE OF BROCILLI! LOL. ((((HUGS TO ALL)))) Tammy

Tammy- I'd have to disagree that hernia repair is a more painful surgery than WLS. Aside from some nausea, by hernia repair (open) about 10 years ago was a cake walk compared to WLS! I had no drains ( I hate those things!), and was out of the hospital in 2 days. They inserted a mesh substance to keepthose innards in- I was a lillte sore for awhile, but you don't have to learn how to eat again after the hernia repair! I think you're smart to wait on the panni- alot of folks wish they would have waited until 2 years out. It's a pain to have to have ANOTHER surgery, but the out come is most likely worth it! Best of luck! Jeri H.

Tammy, I'm glad that you are going to get something done with that hernia. Don't have any other surgery to compare wls to, other than gall bladder, so can't help on the pain issue. Just remember the good pain killers that you had with the wls. About the tt, I would want to wait also, especially if you are still losing weight. My goal is to be maintaining first. Of course, I will not look into it until after another baby, (hopefully). It would be stupid to have a tuck done and THEN to have another baby and stretch it all out again. Besides wanting another baby, I want to experience a pregnancy where people know I am actually pregnant and not just really fat! Anyway, glad that you are going to be able to wait now. About the broccoli, it doesn't bother me at all. I can eat boiled or really well steamed broccoli - sometimes even with cheese sauce. Rice on the other hand - I won't try again. I have tried it once or twice and it floors me every time. Let us know how your appointment goes next week. God bless, Andrea

Hi Tammy, Congrats on your weight loss big hugs your way. Sorry about the hernia but think on how much better you'll feel once you have it taken care of. About the tt, it's wise to wait on that one. I told Dr. S that was the last thing on my list wasn't even going to think on it for a while, just enjoying watching the weight & inches go right now! Take care of yourself & keep us posted. Hugs Carolyn
