A BIG REQUEST

Hello Everybody, Lester and I have a big request to make of all our friends here. Some of you may know that our oldest son Travis is a Marine. He just returned from a year in Japan in June and reported to his post in Beaufort, SC in July. I knew from the website for the base that the base provides support to Camp LeJuene but had fingers crossed that he would stay put. Anyway Travis called last nite to let us know that he and some of the others from the base are joining up with a group from Camp LeJuene that is being deployed to Iraq on Sept. 17. Both his older sister and younger brother knew before us - he called his brother first since we weren't home - and both came to get and give support last nite. We were all in hopes that this would not happen. Our request is that those of you who believe in a Higher Power - whatever or whoever that is in your life - would pray for him and all the other service peoples that are in harms way. We know that prayer can and does work wonders. We thought that the year he was in Japan was a long one but this time I am afraid it will prove to be an even longer year. Can only hope that his tour will only be 6 months instead of 12 but highly unlikely. We hope to come up with the money to make a quick trip to SC to see him if possible before the 17th so any prayers for that would be welcome. Please if you have any children or grandchildren or neighbors children give them a hug 'just because'. Thanks you for your prayers and support. God bless, Lester & Carol

Hi Lester & Carol, All of you will be in my thoughts & prayers & I will ask our Pastor to say a prayer for your son. Hugs are a priority around here! They are always welcome & always given. A suggestion for flights, I use Bestfares.com & they really have some decent prices. Right now they had some flights that need no advance notice for Labor Day weekend. I know they are cheaper than Expedia & some of the other's you find on the net. Keep us posted. Hugs Carolyn

Lester and Carol, Prayers are definitely going out for your son and for you both to be able to see him before he has to leave. I pray that God will protect him and put a barrier of protection around him during his travels and his tour of duty.
