Off to P.S.

Hi everyone. Well, I'm off to the plastic surgeon in about 2 hours. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I'm 10 months post op now (on the 3rd) and I have lost 137 pounds total. I originally wanted to wait for close to 2 years after WLS before even considering P.S., but....... I have had a major bump in my road and hope to have everything resolved at once. I have an extremely large ventral hernia (the size of a regulation softball) and it seems to be causing me more and more pain every day for the past month. My WLS follow up surgeon wanted me to wait until February or March to have it repaired, but I'm quite scared that "IT" won't wait that long, so I'm seeking pre-auth for TT and breast reduction. Yeah, believe that, even after losing 137 pounds I'm still too big in the chest! I'm so sick of the rashes under my breasts and my panni I could burst, then to add the pain of the hernia on top of it all, UGH! So, I have written an 8 page letter to my insurance compainy explaining why they should approve me and why it is NOT cosmetic. Surgeon's secretary said it could be 4-6 weeks before I hear anything. I'm hoping they'll tenatively schedule surgery for November 22nd. My husband will be off of school that week, so he could take care of me. Plus, that would give my new job plenty of time to figure out what they'll do without me for that long. So, sorry for the rant, I guess I was just chatty today Hope your all doing WONDERFULLY! Hello Tammy, good luck to you I hope things go good. let me know how it turns out, I'm going back to my Dr next month so she can refer me to a plastic surgant I want to have a tt done in January i'm getting nervious just thinking about it. take care Laurie

Hey Tammy Good Luck, I am in the land of pre-authorization for a scar revision and Breast Lift, it seems to take for ever, but worth it. Between the TT and Breast lift I was told I would lose about 8 to 10 lbs (don't have a whole lot, but am now a size 6 was told will be a 4 or maybe a 2). Tammy, I had breast reduction surgery in 1999. Went from 54 JJ to 50DD - but I lost my sensation in my nipples - it is a 50/50 chance of that. I lost 9lbs from my breasts. - I basically gave birth!.....lol I just wanted to you that was the only down side that I experienced with that surgery. Good luck and take care! Carol

I typed all about it in a newer post. It was a rough one today. It will get better and everything happens for a reason. Maybe this means I'm going to lose another 30 pounds SOON. LOL (((((HUGS)))))) Tammy
