8/30 ROLL CALL and goals NO LURKING ALLOWED WITHOUT POSTING!!!
Good evening, everyone. Yep this is late again because I have a real life again - one in which I HAVE to work. YUK-k-k-k-k-k-k-k!!!
Goals for last week went pretty well. I mainly focused on keeping sane and getting exercise. This week's goals are similar:
1) KEEP THE FOOD AND EXERCISE LOG FOR EVERY DAY!!
2) Exercise at least 6 days this week, not just 5.
3) Keep up with work and family life without getting too stressed. And.....not eating when I get stressed.
4) Get in a protein drink on the way home from school.
That does it for me for the week. Now I just have to remember to copy and paste these onto my word document so I can print them out and put them on my fridge. I think that I will take one to school, too.
****For the question of the day - who in your life has most inspired you - a teacher, a pastor, a friend, a sister or brother, mother or father? Who has had a positive impact in your life? ****
In terms of my career, it was a teacher in 8th grade that used to tell me stories about working with special children and I was sold - I became a Special Education Teacher. I love my job and working with my students. (I just hate getting up in the mornings and going to work
)
Now let's hear from ALL of you!
God bless,
Andrea

Hello all of my wonderful friends......
It was a good week, other than I have the cold from outer space. My goals were not met at all last week. Not because of the cold - I think that I got too ****y about my weight loss. I spent two days being pukey feeling and having no energy. It is amazing how God teaches us lessons. I was eating too many carbs and crap and became sick. No more not for me - no grazing on junk food.
I did however loose 4lbs. That is a total of 51 down. If I can make goal next week I will be out of the 200's for life. The last time I was less than 200 was i***** and that was 197 for about 6 months. So next week we will be celebrating. Thank you Heavenly Father for every ounce lost.
This weeks goals....
1. With the help of God I will not dump my fully loaded plate.
2. Take more vitamins.
3. Check out the YMCA and the gym at work.
4. Get my homework done for the week.
5. Snack on fruit and protein - no crackers, chips, carbs, or crap
6. Drink my fluids - get rid of the cold
7. Pray & Meditate
Today 2 more loosers joined the gang. I am so grateful that I have had this procedure done and I am over that first month of dread, depression, and anger.
I hope all of you have a wonderful week. Keep you loaded plates steady.
Hugs from Heaven to us all

Whoa, Melinda, you are so close to being under 200 pounds! Hopefully, I will be there right along with you soon. I haven't been that small since 8th grade - literally!
Sorry that you got the pukies last week. Kinda a humbling experience, it sounds. Make sure to work on protein and fluids and vitamins this week. Grab a drink when you want to grab a snack (as Jackie told me a couple of months ago). It works for me - when I try it.
For this gift of health, a my roommate at school says - "THANK YA JESUS!!)
Have a great week and try to get a good deep breath in there somewhere.
God bless,
Andrea
Lynda,
So glad that Jake likes school this year. What grade is he in now? It's funny that you mentioned in another post that here I am unhappy about being back to work - school, and you are happy about your kids being back. NOT FAIR!!
Love that goal of spreading happiness. Hope that you see lots of smiles this week!!
May God pour HIS blessings upon you,
Andrea

Hi Everyone,
This week my goals are the same as usual
1. Keep working to get to 200# by my 9 month appt late in Sept.
2. Stay away from the foods that tempt me & stick with protein.
3. Drink more water.
4. Work out at the gym at least 3 times as well as walk the others. Tomorrow will be day 2 so I shouldn't have trouble making that one.
5. Not worry about what I can't control.
Who in your life has most inspired you? I think that would be my sister. She returned to college as an adult, did very well, & loves her job. She is a wonderful mother & grandmother- so very patient with the kids. She is a great photographer; has an eye for beauty and it shows in her garden. And she has been there for me. When I had my hysterectomy, she visited me every day in the hospital and after my RNY came over one day & we spent the day playing with her stamps like a couple of little girls. She continually emotionally supports me now with my weight loss journey.
Dixie
Dixie,
We have nearly the same surgery date and I, too, am trying to get under 200 pounds. I think that I will aim to be there before my 9 month check up the end of September (a little late). Hope that you don't mind the copy cat goal!
Sounds like you are doing well with working out. If you find out how to stay away from tempting foods, will you let me know? I just have to keep them out of the house, but everywhere else I turn, they are there - church, school, etc. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I love your story about your sister. My two sisters are my best friends! It is so nice to read these positive things about people that have inspired and influenced our lives. Give her a big hug and remember to tell her how much she means to you!!
Have a great week and God bless,
Andrea

Hello All,
Okay, I confess! I have been a mini-lurker for the last couple of weeks. Life has been crazy busy and I just have not had much to say (imagine that). Last Monday I had a little "female" surgery and I have been taking it easy, but I am hoping to get back into the game (so to speak) this week. I don't think I even posted goals last week. Sorry Andrea!
Goals this week are:
1. Get back to Curves!
2. Water, Supplements, Water, Supplements, Water (you get the picture!)
3. Save some time at the end of the day for me!
Question of the day? At different times of my life I have been inspired by different people for various reasons. But the one person who ALWAYS comes to mind is my Grandfather. He could walk the walk, when others could only talk the talk! I really miss him and wish he could see me now! He would be so proud of the many accomplishments in my life and the way that I choose to live it.

Jackie
Jackie,
Glad that you are no longer "mini-lurking". I certainly hope that everything is okay from your other surgery. Are you healing okay? Feeling better now? Are you able to go back to exercising yet? If so, good luck on goals. My mom joined Curves and seems to enjoy it. Now, for some reason, I'm getting the feeling that you need to work on water and taking your supplements - is that so????? Get movin on those, girl. You could dehydrate easily. Be careful, please. (I can't "preach" on the supplements, because I have to work on those, also. I actually still have to use a log to log food, fluids and supplements.)
Your story about your grandfather made me tear up. I'm sure that he IS proud of you and what you have accomplished in life! I like the way you put that that he would "walk the walk". It makes me feel like he was truly an honest, sincere and caring person who was upstanding in his community and with his family. I hope that your memories of him are always filled with happiness.
May God bless you with HIS love this week,
Andrea
My goal for this week is to finish contacting all my prior doctors to get all my medical records transferred here to Iowa! Need to get all my ducks in a row to submit to BC/BS for approval. I did register for one of the info sessions at Genesis in Davenport, and I left a message for the Bariatric Coordinator at Mercy in Cedar Rapids.
The ball is slowly starting to roll!
