Carolyn, I agree with you. I have made some stupid choices and my body has made me pay the price. I really believe it is in the "head". Because I have picked up carb crap eaten it and felt like crap later. Then I would realize I ate that out of habit "that the old me" use to do. We didn't get this big over night and sometimes it takes a lot longer to heal our mind and soul. I am just courious because I would never do it but did you post and tell them how you felt? I have a friend that has been denied by the insurance company (he has our hospital insurance benefits) I feel sad when I see him because I know he is hurting so much. He would give anything for wls and then there are the people you read about. Just goes to show me that we all need prayers sent up to heaven. you stay on that soap box and keep all of us IA folks honest. Hugs Melinda

Hi Carolyn! How about the people on the Main MB that eat sugar, brag about it and then wonder why they are not losing weight or their diabetes, insulin resistance, etc. is not going into submission?!? That's what really trips my trigger. I have PCOS (Polycycistic Ovarian Syndrome) accompanied by insulin resistance (which has refused to go into remission ) and Hypothyroism...which makes makes weight loss extremely difficult, even with RNY...why would anyone do that to themselves?!? I am limited to 650-800 calories per day with only 10-20 total carbs or less per day and 30 total carbs will be maintenance for me (if I ever get there ). I read these posts and I just have to pass them by...I would be typing things that would definitely not be 'lady-like'. Of course, once in a while, I just cannot help myself. Vent away, Sweet Thang...I certainly do NOT disagree with you at all! (((Hugs))) Sherry (AKA...Abby-Normal...) Open RNY 02/04/04 (Proximal-75 cm) 294.5/192.5/150 -102#

Hi Sherry, You have a good point! Really gets to me I shouldn't let it BUT I do. And it must be doubly so for you seeing this stuff. With everything that is going on with you it has to be horribly frustrating. You are doing a great job & have such a positive attitude. What else gets me is those that brag about intake also whine cuz they aren't losing any weight... am I missing something?! Keep up the good work Carolyn

I know you said you weren't aimed at me, as far as your venting, I did get your message thanks. I believe other people may feel that I am like that just eating everything in site, actually I'm not, I'm hungry all the time but trying to be very conscious of what goes in my mouth. The hardest part is protein is still so difficult to digest, I was able to eat chicken once and not again. TUna and shrimp and very moist loose meat on salad is my thing now. I still don't eat bread that would probably fill me up but too afraid to. Thanks for your encouragement

Hi Leslea, Glad you didn't take this personally. Big difference between those I speak of & yourself. Do you like yogurt & cottage cheese? How about taco's? Sometimes I'll do the softshell or else just the meat depending on how many carbs I've taken in for the day. And have tried the low carb softshells as well. Go to fitday.com & put in what you have eaten for the day, I was really surprised I didn't think I was getting enough protein & surprise I do! Love my peanut butter toast for breakfast. Bacon chews up into nothing...little something from Janet! I also sprinkle bacon bits on my cottage cheese for something different. Tooter had a good sounding recipe on the other day Nacho hamburger. Need to try that also. I can hardly look at tuna, guess I went overboard on it, but will make a stuffed tomato out on occasion. You are doing fine don't pay no mind to me! Carolyn

Carolyn ok i am jealous you can eat pizza, lol i cant cuz of the breading....and i used to love pizza now i dread pizza....and i agree with you 100% on this topic. you know i had leakes and i wasnt allowed anything to drink or swallow anything till my leaks were healed up. so i new when i got to drink i wasnt going to do anything to mess it up. i am no angel when it comes to this yeah i do cheat once in awhile but i look at this i am almost 9 months down and down over 100 lbs. but cheating to me is 2 m and ms with 8 oz glass of milk. i know i got dogged when i posted that i eat beef jerky. still cant figure that one out cuz it has protein but o well. i never thought i would ever give up pop and i havent had one since the day before my surgery. I hate it when i hear people eating regular foods right after surgery. And people then wander why some people put down this surgery it is cuz of people like that...makes me really mad!!!!!!!!!! well i will talk to you later.....lynda
