Just got home from the Doctor
Hi everyone,
Well my husband insisted I go and see our doctor this afternoon. We went down and talked with my doctor. He put me on Wellbutrin XL. Anyway we discussed with him about wls surgery and our insurance policy. He told us to have Dr. Shinnerl turn in a request for wls surgery and wait for it to be denied. He said when this happens to take this information to our local Farm Bureau agency and show them that. He feels that Farm Bureau may be able to get us on a State Mandated Insurance through BCBS because of a rider with the wls surgery and our insurance. Has anyone ever heard of this?
I appreciate any ideas that anyone has.
Thanks,
Diane
Diane, I would like to warn you about the Wellbutrin XL i was on that for a while and my mom was on that. She got more depressed on that and she had the feeling of wandering why she was living and why should she live. Just becareful on this medication. I am glad you did go the dr. and he gave you ideas on how you might be able to have this surgery. if you ever need to chat we are here and i will tell you what i have been threw with this surgery.....lynda
Thanks a bunch Lynda. How long was your mother on it when she got these feelings? The doctor gave me enough for a month and then I have to go back and see him. My husband insisted I go to the doctor, the last couple of days all I could do was cry. Today was much better, I think maybe because I finally broke down and talked with my husband and then the doctor.
Would love to chat with you sometime.
Diane,
my mom was on it for a couple months. my mom had mood swings majorly and very depressed and it did get worse when she was on the meds. they kept upping the meds on her and it kept getting worse. one day she called me and we talked and she was like i never thought like this before in my life. my mom is off of it now and is doing fine. i know how hard it is when you are depressed been there done that. my mom was told she has fibromyalgia i understand your sister has that so you know what it is. i have msn and yahoo messenger.. i am online alot and we can email each other also.....lynda
Diane,
Glad to hear that you have some options to try. If surgery is what you want, fight for it. Also, I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your sister. If you are anything like her, you are a wonderful person. Remember that life is short and arguements are usually not worth the time and heart ache that we put each other through. I have two sisters that are my best friends. They have been with me through thick and thin, literally. I will pray that you are able to mend your relationship.
About the meds, if you question their effectiveness or side affects, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist about them. You can also do some research on your own. I know that they have been prescribed to people in my family and used without problems. Please find out more about them if you continue to question if they are right for you.
Good luck and God bless,
Andrea
