Hi all! I am oficially -68lbs. YEAH!!! I am a little over 3 months now. Things are going great. My 3 sisters and I are taking Mom to Vegas for her birthday. Anyone have any suggestions on where to see or what we really "have " to see or do. None of us have ever been there. We are all so excited to go. I would have been dreading this a year ago. Any suggestions or ideas are welcomed. Thank you, Tammy

Tammy, I always wanted to go to Vegas, and finally in March 2003 I got to go there. My son, his wife,my hubby and I drove up there from Mesa,Arizona while we were visiting my son.....it was the biggest, dirtiest place I had every seen.....and we didnt even stop....we were all very disappointed.....however we continued on down to Laughlin and it was a very nice clean place....we still could gamble which we didnt much but it was there if we wanted. Hiya Tammy...you'll have a great time in Vegas!!! There is so much to see and do! Dont stay at the Tropicana though, it doesn't have much to offer! If ya get a chance take the tour bus to the Hoover Dam, it is well worth the money and doesn't cost a whole lot, you can book it online. Also make sure you go to the old downtown Vegas and see the light show. When are you going? IF ya get a chance to see Chicago in concert gooooooooooooooooooo, they play at the Stardust! The Excalibur has the best buffet in town....alot of the others, the food all taste the same it is awful!!! Otherwise just stick to the bar and grills for food!!! Have a great time, Janet Schmidt

Hi Tammy, I've been there. It is really something to see. Tropicana was not a good place to stay, in fact I have heard that the old strip is more friendlier. New York New York was really cool. They have a Coyote Ugly bar there it was cool standing outside seeing people dancing on the bar. Excalibur was the best buffet we found. Hope you have a great time, Diane

Hi Tammy: Vegas can be alot of fun. I stayed at the Excalaber (sp?) a number of years ago. If I go again I'd like to stay at the Luxor. If you like shows, I highly reccomend Circ d Sole, It is awsome! My husband and I would like to plan a trip back out just to see their shows they have 2 of them in Vegas. Blue Man Group is also alot of fun. A fun outing during the day is the M&M Factory outlet. You probably won't be able to sample but the tour is really cute. New York New York is really fun too and they have an indoor rollercoaster. Have a great trip and let us know how it goes. Eileen

Tammy, Haven't been to Vegas, but certainly hope you have a great time! Isn't it nice to be able to look forward to something instead of dread it??? Congrats on the terrific loss!! God bless, Andrea

Vegas is very fun, and there is a lot you can go for free or cheap. I've stayed on the Strip and on Fremont, and there are good an bad things about each location. There are a lot of good websites that can tell you what there is to do there, but I would suggest: Fremont Street Experience (free) "Tournament of Kings" show at Excalibur (dinner and show; $50/person) Hoover Dam tour (as cheap as $20/person) "Sirens of TI" outdoor show, runs 3x per evening (free) Circus acts at Circus Circus (free) Fountain show at Bellagio (free) live, outdoor music next to Harrah's every night (free) Venice-looking mall and canals at Venetien (free, gondola trip with singing "gondoleers" about $12/person) Lots of shopping (if you're into that) Shark and other aquarium exhibit at Mandalay Bay ($12/person) IMAX 3d movies at Luxor (proce varies...around $10/person) Buffet at the Rio - top quality food. The Rio is off the strip, but there's a free shuttle from Harrah's to the Rio that runs all day until 2am or so. Remember good walking shoes! You can get unlimited 24 hour passes for the CAT (citizen area transit) bus system for $5/person. You buy them right from the bus driver on any bus. Handy to have if you get tired of walking, or want to go to Fremont to the Strip or vice versa.

Vegas is a lot of fun. But the two things that I liked best was the Large indoor flea market located on S. Decatur between W. Sahara Ave and W. Charleston Blvd. You can spend an entire day in that place and they have just about anything you could think of. I seen a Willy Nelson look alike in there performing that could pass for him. The other place to see is Red Rock Canyon and Mt Charleston. The casinos are fun but there is a lot more to Vegas that just casinos. Enjoy your trip, we will be out that way in December. Herb
