I just over 4 mos out and have been lightheaded and dizzy if I get up too fast from a chair or when I get out of bed. It only lasts a few seconds and it's gone. If I get up out of bed in the nite to go potty it helps if I sit on the edge of the bed for a minute before getting up. Fri nite I forgot and then passed out in the hallway. I woke up when I hit the floor. oowww. Has anybody else post op experienced this. I called my surgeon and they thought I should check with the PCP. I'm thinking I'm a little dehydrated -- I know I haven't gotten in all my fluid the past few days. Also I know my blood pressure is low when I first get up and then is okay as the day goes on. Any thoughts Janie 272/190/140?

This happens to me all the time ! I actually passed out in Hy-Vee once, talk about embarrassing I ended up in the ER and I was dehydrated, the other problem that makes it worse is that I am anemic, which as well all know can be a side effect of the RNY...so I would get my iron checked, and drink a bunch of water. I take a liquid iron now that helps, it tastes like a mouth full of pennies but it works! Heather 298/140

I have been like this the past few days it is worse today I think it is something viral I also have stomach pain and nausea and I am more than meeting my daily need in water. When I get up I just feel like I am going to pass out. But your electrolytes could also be off. Are you on blood pressure medications or have trouble with blood pressure? If it continues check with your docter.

Hi Jane, Just a thought - how is your blood sugar? You might want that checked. Don't let this go! Get to your PCP ASAP! Keep us updated on what you find out. Take care and God Bless! Carol

Janie, Hey, did you call your doc yet? What did you find out? I am curious because I suffer from the same thing quite often - usually several times a day, at least. I don't pass out, but do get lightheaded and all labs in June were fine. Also am drinking over 100 oz of water usually a day, so shouldn't be dehydrated. Please let us know what you find out. God bless, Andrea
